I really did my homework before buying my first DSLR (feature comparisons, professional reviews, chats with salespeople, etc.) and boy, did I make the right choice. This camera has more features than you will probably ever use in your lifetime. It's a wonderful camera you can grow into at your own pace. It's also without a doubt the BEST value for your money. Period. My most important requirement was autofocus speed, and it is definitely fast. I also love the Lock-On (tracking) AF feature. You can customize everything to your liking and the way you shoot. My pics have turned-out just lovely. I couldn't be happier with this little sucker.

I bought a Sony A58k as my first DSLR, I couldn't be more satisfied. Really good product, easy to use, and a good amount of diferent functions that we can only find in more expensive DSLR of others companies. For sure worth the price.

Sweep Panoramas with Sony α58

I bought this camera primarily to use with the Sweep Panorama mode. The attached photo, which used the 18mm focal length, had sufficient resolution to print as a 8" X 48" panorama. This is quite remarkable for a camera in the price range of the α58. The maximum sweep angle is dependent on the focal length of the lens used. Sony recommends using the wider angle focal lengths and subject distances that are not too close to the camera. Using these guidelines, good quality results can be obtained with only a little practice.
