Great for the boys.They couldn't wait for it to come out! great graphics,plays nicely on console.
What's great about it: kids love it! highly recommended

This game has an awesome campaign and the monsters are awesome. My only gripe about the campaign is the choppy frame rate. The online play is horrible. Continuously throws party out of xbox live no matter who the host is. The matchmaking takes thirty to forty five minutes. The online play is not worth the hassel until this gets fixed. All my other games for my xbox 360 never have an of these problems. Would not recommend buying if you want to play onlline. Also read other forumns and many people are having the same problems.
What's great about it: awesome campaign, horde is also very good online idea,awesome monsters
What's not so great: has many online problems,horde is one of them, takes forever to get a game going online
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This game has incredible graphics and a great story line. It is so much fun to play in single player and multiplayer. Overall, a great game.
What's great about it: Everything. Fast fun game play that entertains for hours.
What's not so great: Some multiplayer modes
I would recommend this to a friend!

Gears of War 2 is an amazing sequal to the original Gears of War. The graphics, new weapons, and all new characters are amazing. The difficulty alone is what makes it so addicting and makes you want more. I strongly recommend co-op for the pure fun you and your friend can have. One of the many great things about this game is the story line. Its not too long or too short its just right. I strongly recommend this game and if you havent played the first Gears of War I would buy that too!
What's great about it: Everything from graphics to the pure addictiveness of the game
What's not so great: There are no flaws in this game
I would recommend this to a friend!

Excellent follow-up

Gears of War 2 is a superb follow up to Gears of War. The original was a great game, and this sequel surpasses it in most every way.
The detail of the graphics is excellent. It's not a stretch to say that Epic is pushing the limit of what developers can do with the 360 right now. Sound design has been improved from the original game, and is very pleasing. The story is well written, and fun to play through. The Gears of War universe has a neat story, and it's nice to see that Epic finally decided to start telling it, since the first game didn't score well in the story department.
The new co-op multiplayer Horde mode is probably the best achievement the game has made. It's a ton of fun to fight wave after wave of increasingly difficult enemies. You quickly find out how good you and your friends are at the game when you start playing Horde mode.
I would definitely recommend the game to anyone looking for a great action-shooter.
What's great about it: New Horde mode, great sound and graphics, tweaks to original game's gameplay
What's not so great: A few too many scripted bits which take you out of the action
I would recommend this to a friend!

This game is Almost as good as the first one. The co-op campaign was fun on hardcore and on insane it took just a little more time than the first game. The online multiplayer system is Much better than the first because there is no Host who gets to delay the game for a long time. I still feel that the online is lacking compared to Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4 because of the speed of finding a game online. Gears 2 Takes a very long time to find a Game online.
If you liked the first gears you will surely like this game. It all depends on if you like 3rd person shooters weather or not if you Like or LOVE this game.
The choice is yours.
What's great about it: Fun campaign that is an hour or two longer than the first. New Multiplayer system. New weapons
What's not so great: New Multiplayer system, New achievement called "Seriously 2.0" in which you have to get a total of 100,000 kills in all.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Gears of War 2... The campaign is good as expected. The co-op abilities to do in this game are also incredible. Horde is a great new multiplayer adition and is fun to do with a friend or friends online, however, don't get me started on the Matchmaking. It was a great idea to try and eliminate host advantage and this is what is being created. I am writing this review and trying to search for a game. Ive been waiting for a good 20 minutes now and i have flawless internet capability. I know im waiting way too long if my xbox has gone idol and my controller even turned off. Never had trouble in the past. This seems to be going on for everyone. I finally made it into a game last night as everyone had a sigh of relief that we finally could get a game started. I asked if everyone was having this problem and everyone of them said that they were. It took me 45 minutes to get into a game. I watched a whole family episode and came back still searching for a game. So if your buying this game for internet purposes... you might want to wait until something gets solved because it'll just upset you trying to get in a game.
What's great about it: New game modes are superb. Graphics are incredible.
What's not so great: Matchmaking and online
I would recommend this to a friend!

best game out to date for 360

My previous 360 received the red ring of death, so I upgraded to the elite and purchased this game along with it on the same day. I have a 1080P samsung and have never gamed in 1080P until I played gears of war 2. It was breathtaking between the sound and graphics. My surround sound put me right in the game. If you thought the first one was good...well this one is even better. I loved using wounded locusts as body shields as I went crazy with my magnum. Riding on enemy vessels/creatures was awesome especially the Brumack...omg the damage I did with that bad boy was insane. There are more characters which make the game more entertaining and keep the interests of those who gamed the 1st one. They added more finishing moves and the levels were more intense. This game is an absolute blood bath adventure, which is why it may be more suitable for teens and adults, but this is definately one of the best games out on shelves today.
What's great about it: Jaw dropping graphics and sound, more characters on both sides, great story line
What's not so great: Beat it in a day...now I have to wait for the 3rd one.
I would recommend this to a friend!
