It's spacious for all the other refrigerators that size we've bought, plus the settings for the cooling and humidity really make our groceries last longer. In all its a great bang for your buck plus its an energy saver, what more could you ask for?
I would recommend this to a friend!

We love our new French door refrigerator. I can honestly say after 6 months of use that there is nothing I would change about it. The storage space in the freezer is far more than in my old side by side and everything fits without a push or shove in the upper part as well. I would highly recommend this appliance.

Disappointing Product

While this unit has several nice features, the poor performance of the ice maker takes all of the pleasure out of owning it. There is no where I can go in my house where I can't here the ice cubes plunking into the tray. Totally unsatisfactory for such a high priced unit. Additionally, it is difficult to get the ice bin out when it is full without ice cubes falling to the floor. It is also hard to reinsert the bin when it is even near full. Very poor overall design. Another problems is with the freezer door. Since you only have height adjustments on the front of the unit, I cannot get the drawer to stay open with the floor slope being towards the back of the unit. Definitely not what I would expect from this company.
Cons: Did not meet expectations

Owned one for 5 months and it failed me.

OK here is the skinny, I love a good price. The model is still expensive, but due to a sale we picked one up. Stainless steal, huge compartment, but it only ran well for 5 months!! Bottom line this refrigerator only lasted 5 months, and you could imagine I'm not happy. Oh and the twin cooling failed for both the freezer and Refrigerator!
Pros: Bright display
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

After 10 months in our home, not one bad thing can we say about this refrigerator, all good, freezer works great too, Ice Cream hard as a rock. Plenty of room inside, we have stainless thats easy to keep clean. The biggest feature is the dual condensers for keeping top & bottom at the right temp. without tranfering smells from one part to the other. I have learned that Samsung is Quilty One on every product i have purchased.

Loud humming noise

Just purchased a RFG297 a couple of days ago. The first thing I noticed was the loud humming noise coming from the refrigerator. I have made sure that the refrigerator is level and stable. The refrigerator does occasionally go silent, but I hear the noise most of the time. The noise is loud enough to be a nuisance.
RFG297 is a lot louder than my 10yr old Kenmore Elite.

Great Fridge

I'm very happy with this purchase. I've had it for just over a year and it is great. It holds a lot of food, but you do need some good organizational skills to keep the piles straight in the freezer compartment. The only minor issue is the ice maker. It is loud when the cubes fall into the plastic bin and it doesn't make that much ice. There are only two of us, so normally we have plenty of ice, but when my brother comes to visit we do run out. So, that could be an issue for larger families. You also have to be careful when you get ice since you're never sure how much will come out at any given instant. There is also a slight delay, so you can remove your glass and more ice comes out, which goes straight to the floor.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Terrible ice machine
on May 13, 2009

I bought this refrigerator for the large capacity. As a refrigerator it is great. The ice machine portion has been lousy from the purchase. The ice machine does not make enough ice, it is very slow at making ice and the feed chute is too small. It grinds the ice and spits it out in chunks all over the floor or the cubes build up and when the door is opened they fly out across the floor. Other than the ice machine this has been a great refrigerator.
