When I first got this game I didn't know what to expect. But when I started it up I was blown away! The graphics are amazing, the online is flawless, and ranking up is an extremely fun challenge. But since I only have 2 controllers me and my brother can only do 2 player split screen and that gets a little boring. Plus the lack of co-op was disappointing.
What's great about it: Awesome online play!! (Great ranking and "upgrade" system)
What's not so great: Split screen.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Call of Duty 4 has been out for a year now and its still kicking. Its online crowd took a blow with the release of COD 5 but it is still one of the best fps ever created. If you havent expirienced this award winning game yet, its time! You wiill not be dissapointed.
What's great about it: Online multiplayer, graphics, guns, intense gameplay
What's not so great: short story mode, no trophies
I would recommend this to a friend!

Perhaps the best war game in viedeogame history is Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. It's great for the multiplayer combat battles and online. The graphics are amazing and the weapons are insane. I peronsally love this game beacuse it is a great game for just hanging out with your buddies and playing online. Not only that, you get an idea of what war is really like in Iraq. I have owned the game for 1 year now and i continue playing it. This game is worth the money.
What's great about it: online, multiplayer, great storyline, awesome weapons, graphics
What's not so great: no trophies
I would recommend this to a friend!

I havent played MODERN WARFARE for a while but a few weeks ago, I picked it up and started playing it again. I am hooked all over again!! Where to start? First let me say this game has already won "GAME OF THE YEAR". My entire reason for buying a PS3 sysem was to play this game, after I played this game at my friends.
GRAPHICS- EXCELLENT
GAME-PLAY- EXCELLENT
SOLO- GAME PLAY- EXCELLENT
ONLINE-GAME-PLAY- EXCELLENT
CONTROLS- EXCELLENT
Thie online play is great!! online has several maps and a map pack that can be downloaded for an expense.. You can rank up through several ranks and gain lots of modern weapons and addons to the weapons such as LASER-SIGHT, SCOPES, SILENCERS, and much more. Online is extremely fun. This still ranks as my favorite game on the shelf!! Keep in mind there is a MODERN WARFARE 2 due to release in NOVEMBER 09!!! (this is handy information because prices may drop on this game once the sequal is released) however you may want to get started on the first before the second is released?? you can access lots of information on CALLOFDUTY.COM..... TO RECAP... THIS IS TOTALY AND BY FAR THE BEST GAME I HAVE PLAYED ON THE PS3 AND IS A MUST HAVE!!! I GUARENTEE YOU WILL LIKE IT!!!
What's great about it: EVERYTHING
What's not so great: NOTHING

CONS
To start off, it's the Game of the Year edition (which means you get the free map pack with it) and it doesn't come with it. I've called over three different stores and companies and NONE of the new shipments came with the code.
Secondly, they need to do something about their friend-to-friend playing. Very few friends will actually be able to play along with you online. Extremely annoying, and I don't care how bad/good the internet connection is for anybody.
Pros
Everything (but the cons I wrote) , the gameplay, graphics, idea, everything about it is amazing. It'll keep you addicted for hours and you won't need another game for a long time.
What's great about it: The gameplay online, guns, set-up, perks, idea and originality.
What's not so great: Can't play with half your friends (even on XBox 360) and Game of the Year edition doesn't come with the map pack.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I really like to play this game and beat the missions as well as play online. I just recently got online so its soo fun! The campaign is pretty fun also.
What's great about it: Everything online, graphics, pretty fun
What's not so great: Once you beat the game, its get boring if you can't play online
I would recommend this to a friend!

one of the best games i have played

lets start by saying even though this is the game of year edition, which supposedly is supposed to have the new maps included, it doesnt, nor did i get a code to download the maps at no charge...so i do not know why they released this as the game of the year edition.
other than that i am not a big FPS fanatic. to be honest, i thought games like halo, medal of honor, and doom were stupid. i beat halo 1 on legendary, even though the last level was frustrating trying to beat the time limit and i had to keep at it to finally get it, and medal of honor series was ok, none of them kept my attention. the last shooter games i liked were goldeneye and perfect dark for N64. since then EA has butchered the 007 games and i wont even play them anymore.
Call of duty is differnt. there is alot in the game that keeps me hooked. i enjoy the single story player mode alot more than other games like halo. the multiplayer mode is where the game really standsout from the crowd.
online multiplayer mode has an experiance system in place to unlock new weopons, skills/perks which makes the game very addicting. it is fun to get experiance to unlock new items. you get experiance for killing other players, and doing various things that the game has predeifined (kill so many people with a particular weopon ect.
you also can unlock extra devices for your weopons like bayonets, sights/scopes among a few dozen other devices that improve certain weapon characteristics. this keeps the game very entertaining to gain experiance by completing certain objectives, or to do things a certain way you may not do otherwise.
I also picked up call of duty 5 2 days after i purchased this game since everyone said this game is better. i thouroghly enjoy both games and both have the same experiance system, though 5 has different ways to earn exp. i couldnt choose between either of them to say one is better. call of duty 4 is a modern day game, while call of duty 5 (world at war) takes place along world war 2 era. i think most people just prefer the modern day weopons compared to the COD 5 ones. i enjoy both games and rank them the same so if you are getting this game or love this game, consider getting call of duty 5 as well.
What's great about it: multiplayer, exp system
What's not so great: why is this the game of the year edition?

This game is the best Call of Duty game ever. (Next to Call of Duty: World at War.)
What's great about it: Story line is awesome
What's not so great: I hate the T.V. room level
