This is a great upgrade from the regular six axis controller.
The six axis was very very light, and there was no rumble.
With the Dual Shock 3 it actually feels like a controller and there is rumble now.
The only downfall about the controllers are the triggers.
The triggers feel like mush. Specially compared to the xbox 360 triggers.
Also there is not enough rumble.
But other than that this is a very nice controller.
What's great about it: Rumble features and added weight
What's not so great: Triggers feel like mush and needs more rumble.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The DualShock 3 controller is a great controller for the PS3. The regular price is somewhat high, but when the controller is on sale it is definitely worth it. Even the regular price of the controller is worth it since it is a wireless controller that has the vibration feature added to it. The controller also seems to be heavier than the normal controller, which makes it seem more durable. I would definitely recommend the controller to anyone because it makes games more lively with the vibration feature.

Great controller, much better then the first gen

This second generation controller is much nicer with the added weight from the vibration parts that are inside. The first controller just seemed too light and very fragile but this one feels much more like the PS2 controller.
The battery life seems to be very good and being Blutooth is very nice if you are very far away from your PS3 or if you have it hidden away within an enterntainment center. The larger shoulder buttons are not the most comfortable and sometimes get in the way and are not as responsive due to their size.
What's great about it: Very comfortable especially with the added weight from the vibration weights
What's not so great: Analog pads not as comfortable as the Xbox
I would recommend this to a friend!

I like that it is wireless and rechargable but i woudl like to see sony come up with a new design for a controller sometime. At least soeny made it wireless, rechargable, and has six access motion

Great original ps3 remote, had dual shock 3 for extra feel for gaming... a little bit heavier than regular ps3 remote, but makes gaming a bit more realistic. I love this remote.
What's great about it: very easy set up, got on sale from website and send to store

This is the controller that now goes standard with the Sony ps3 and tell you one thing, amazing. Egronomics may not be as comfortable as the xbox 360's controllers for some but those *the xbox* contorllers are not good for your hands and fingers having your thumbs in 2 different postions for long periods of time. Also the durability on these is superb! Trust me, i of all people should know. i tend to have that 'Call Of Duty' temper and have thrown it at a wall several times and no damage. i am strong and threw this a good 40 mph, no joke and only till the recent throw did it crack down the seam, yet still works. Astonishing product and is put down at a price good enough to have 2-4 to play with friends. One last thing, the battery lasts a VERY long time for game-play and the blutooth connection is great! BUY NO OTHER CONTROLLER FOR PS3! ONLY A FOOL WOULD DO SO!
What's great about it: Everything and anything
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great controller after some use

After flooding killed my last PS3 controller (do not get these wet... they will die), I picked up this one as a replacement. Installation was easy (as opposed to a Wii mote, all I had to do was connect it to my PS3 with the USB cable and turn it on). Right out of the box, some of the buttons were really sticky, but after some use, they managed to operate more freely.
Great controller... light, easy to handle, dual shock motion enabled, rumble capability. Can't ask for more.
What's great about it: Light, comfortable, easy to use, great piece of tech
What's not so great: Not water proof, Buttons come sticky
I would recommend this to a friend!

Initially bought an aftermarket 360 clone for my second PS3 controller and was sorely disappointed (see review)... returned that and picked this up, as of now I've adjusted nicely to the (IMO) questionable ergonomics of the controller and really enjoying the fact that its BT and doesn't require an adapter.
What's great about it: Sony OEM and Bluetooth
What's not so great: inferior ergonomics to 360 controller
I would recommend this to a friend!
