Worst machine ever

Unfortunately 0 stars is not available. Worst piece of crap ever… Anybody that says otherwise is clearly paid by LG. The only way to not have residue on your clothes is by washing without detergent…Keeps refilling even when the load IS balanced. Smart Diagnosis never worked… For the sake of humanity LG stick to TVs and leave other appliances alone!

Hello there. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand that your WT1201CW washer is experiencing a load balance issue, causing it to cycle endlessly. To address this, we recommend ensuring that the load inside the washer is evenly distributed. Try redistributing the clothes manually and restarting the cycle. Very Displeased With This Washer
on April 2, 2015

I have been experiencing some issues with this top load washer, specifically during the spin cycle. The washer has detected an out of balance load on ALL of my laundry washes. This seems to only happen during the spin cycle, prompting it to redistribute water to try and balance the load. My problem is it dosn't just do this once, it will continuously do this during a wash load until its right, wasting way too much water. This past month my water bill went sky high. I've sat in front of my washer during a session, just to see what it does, the spin cycle lasted about an hour(maybe more) because of the uE error; total time was about two hours! During this I also saw my washer display 29 minutes remaining then suddenly jump down to 22 and show the uE symbol and add water and jump up and down between numbers over and over. I've watched videos on how to load the washer and tried to wash like items together, to no avail. I've had this washer for almost a year now and I agree the first couple months were great, but its just gotten worse.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Constantly Unbalanced load error

You don't have to do much searching online for this top loader before find a whole bunch of people with the same problem and no answers from LG.
The machine constantly gets to the end of the cycle and reports an unbalanced load, refills with water, and the goes back to spin cycle. Given that this is rated as He it ends up using more water in the end with the constant refills. I've stood there for hours watching the spin cycle with no rocking drum and it still gets down to 1 minute and restarts it again.
Pros: ue, unbalanced error

Looks good, cleans great

I've had this washer for over a month now and absolutely LOVE it! I was hesitant to purchase after reading some of the negative reviews, but I'm glad I went ahead with it. I love the clean lines and the front control panel...no more stretching and reaching for a dial or button to set the cycle. It cleans so much better than my old agitator model. I have hard wood floors in this new house and was amazed by how dirty my socks get. I put them in this baby and they came out white. No bleach. Just detergent. And WHITE. Truly amazing. My more delicate items come out unscathed and no more getting the straps of my tank tops wrapped around a stupid agitator. The drum is HUGE. I sometimes feel guilty for having such a small load...but then I realize it's not that small...it just looks that way in the enormous tub. I like that it senses the size of the load and adjusts the water accordingly. It's super quiet when it runs, which is great, because I don't currently have a door on my laundry room. I think the people who complain about it not cleaning well or leaving residue aren't following the instructions. You only use 2 tablespoons of detergent. Yes, TABLESPOONS. If you're like me, you might be used to dumping in half a capfull or more. Not with this machine. Read and follow the directions and I really think you'll be amazed at the performance of this machine.
The only slightly negative point I have is the drum is very deep. So if you're short, like I am (5'4"), you may need a step stool to get to the bottom of the drum. I don't need it every time, but if I do a load of smaller items, like socks and underwear, I definitely need some assistance reaching the bottom. But its still completely worth it to me. I love the washer and wouldn't trade it for anything. And it's not LG's fault I'm short, so I didn't take away any stars for that. I chose to get the large capacity size for my blankets and comforters.
Pros: Quality, Features/Settings, easy to use, Performance, Style/Design

Was Worried About Unbalanced Issues...Needlessly!

I needed a new washer because my old agitator machine quit working. In doing lots of research, I was VERY nervous about the unbalanced issue. My laundry is in the garage and I do not have time to babysit or take 2 hours to complete a load that keeps trying to balance. However, I have owned this machine for several weeks now and done many different types of loads. I have not had any unbalanced problems at all. ZERO! I worried and stressed for no reason!
I did read the instructions and I follow directions. Before, I would throw everything in the old machine without a thought. Now, I do take an extra minute or two to sort appropriately, with heavy items on the bottom and lightweight items on top.
So incredibly happy with this machine. Do not let the small percentage of unbalanced issue horror stories deter you. This is a GREAT machine with nice features and performance. And the matching dryer is good, as well.

Research helps

After a considerable amount of research, we decided to purchase the LG WT1201 CW top loading washer. It is easy to use and our laundry is definitely clean. It is amazing that such a small amount of water & detergent can do such a nice job. The only "issue" we have found is that washing rubber backed throw rugs is not recommended. We knew that this machine is not recommended for "waterproof" items but didn't realize that would include rugs that do need to be cleaned occasionally. That is the only reason our overall rating is not a 5!!
Pros: easy to use
I would recommend this to a friend!
