good all around product...

We bought this washer this past March 2014 to replace our only 7 years old GE washing machine. We thought of getting the front loader but after doing some research we decided to try this LG WT1201CW based on Consumer Reports review and recommendation. We like the features and its size where we can load comforters and more clothes than our old machine. The automatic water level feature is also a plus because it's a no miss for everyone and will definitely save water use. I didn't give 5 stars on overall rating because I would like to see if it will last more than our GE. Durability is a big factor for us in rating a product. If this machine proved to be trouble free for years, I will definitely stick to LG for years to come in terms of buying home appliances.

I was never a fan of doing the wash but this machine has changed that for me (for now lol). It looks amazing, is fun to use, has a HUGE DRUM, it is so deep that I have trouble reaching small items at the bottom (I am 5'4"), but I will deal with that since I can do comforters now. It saves water because it senses the size of the load, and I have never had a problem with the balancing that someone else complained about. Maybe this person is not putting the heavy items in first as the instructions note. I cannot say enough about this washer. I have never loved an appliance before :)

I am sorry that I purchased tis top loading machine. It is not very high efficiency as claimed. Always takes longer than the timer say. Terrible at removing pet hair from clothing. For high efficiency, stay away from this model and go with a front loader instead.

favorite washing machine ever

I have had some bad luck with washers (and dryers) since moving to Hawaii. My last machine, a front loader, only lasted 5 years. I chose this machine because I much prefer a top loader. If I had known how large the capacity truly is, I probably would have bought a slightly smaller model. It is amazing how much it holds.
One interesting experience was when I went to use the washer for the first time. I discovered that I could not open the lid all the way because of a cabinet (the machine is taller than my 2 previous washers). Looking in the manual, I found a locking mechanism on the lid. When open, a flap in front drops down, lowering the clearance just enough to allow the top to open normally. I really felt that LG thinks of everything.

Quiet, excellent washing, convenient controls

We were very surprised at how smoothly and quiet this washer operates. Then when the clothes were cleaner and dryer coming out was wonderful. The new look with the front controls is most convenient and space age, not like a washing machine. We also were very pleased with the amount of clothes that we could wash, from big loads to very small. Finally the number of options may be a challenge, but we were glad to have them and easy to use. Great machine for us.

This is an AMAZING washer! I wanted one that was quiet as I have a small home and it is upstairs. This washer is so quiet and efficient. I love that I can set it to start a load of clothes while I am at work that will be close to finished by the time I get home as loads take a little longer with new washers. Clothes are clean and you can fit A LOT in a load. Only drawback is that I am 5'3" and its hard for me to get smaller clothes pieces out of the drum (I use tongs). I LOVE this washer!

Spent a lot of time reading all the reviews on all types of washers. The LG had the best and now I know why. First, I liked the appearance and sleek design. I followed the instruction on the installation to the letter. Looked a videos on line before first wash. Easy step through controls for every type wash load with factory settings or customize any way you want. Noise levels are very low too! Get this washer!!!
