fun to wash

Before purchase I read through as many reviews as I could bare looking for patterns. Nothing too concerning except for load balance so I felt pretty good.
Came from a front-load machine before and clothes did not get as clean as I had hoped. Clothes never really smelled clean and white clothes seemed to yellow. Also hated the dreaded moldy smells if liquid detergent was used for any extended period of time (In hindsight it could have been because I overloaded it).
Love everything about this machine. Love the water efficiency and how clothes actually come out looking clean, odor free, and almost dry. So far no issues with load balance at all.
Glad I bought it and look forward to many years of reliable service.

Washing clothes used to be one chore that I hated!
With my new washer, I love to wash clothes. I often wash stuff that does not need to be washed. It is so easy....no more having to guess the water level, the water temp, when to add the softener, bleach, nothing! I LOVE IT. Best purchase I ever made. Now to get the dryer........

Great replacement

I purchased my LG washer after much research with other top load washers in the same price range. After looking at all the reviews, I chose the LG because the quality seems better than my other choice. The other washer had some negative review of rust around the bleach dispenser. I also thought the LG had a better stainless steel drum. The only feature that was missing from the LG washer was for a waterproof material setting. I do not believe any LG washers offer this setting but since I don't wash that many clothes that are waterproof, it was not a deal breaker. It does take longer to wash a load compared to my old washer but I just have to adjust my time doing laundry.

First of all, I had so much fun the first night I got this washer. I stood and watched through the window for a while. I was simply fascinated. There are many settings to chose from. It is so quiet that I can sometimes forget that I am working on laundry- our old washer shook the whole downstairs! This is simply a great product and it can handle a very large load.

I miss my old Maytag!

First and foremost - I miss my old Maytag with the agitator. I had it for almost 30 years before needing to replace it. I get the whole new and improved product - but I don't get how they consider this a "High Efficiency" machine when it takes 1 1/2 hours to complete a wash cycle, no savings on electricity here. It still requires the same amount of detergent as the old machines and it may use less water but that's not a good thing when you have to wash the clothes twice. It's great for towels or lightly soiled clothes but when you have the real dirty stuff, plan on putting it through 2 cycles. Pretty disappointed and considering giving this one away and getting an old school, cheaper machine with a good old fashioned agitator!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Quiet, Efficient and User Friendly

Since we have only had the unit (we also bought the dryer) for only 2 months, it's too soon to provide an excellent rating in all categories. After a year of use, that is likely to be possible. We check with Consumer Reports for such major investments. These units were well rated and coupled with the features we sought allowed us to purchase with confidence.

I just love my new LG washer and dryer. They are so efficient, so easy to use, so very quiet, and our clothes come out looking new, smelling fresh, and ever so soft. These machines are without a doubt the best investment we ever made in laundry appliances. I highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed.

I love my lg washer and dryer. The clothes are much cleaner than in my previous washer. I like the options, saves water and electric. Iam 89 years old, but have no problems in using all the options. Love my LG
