Don't Like It Much

Just got this freezer yesterday. The Owners Manual and the electronic controls on door are pathetic. Nowhere in the written materials does it tell you what TEMP is appropriate. The indicator continued to show "54F" after setup. So I attempted to change setting. Put it on Quick Freeze and changed temp to 10 F because unit wouldn't let me set it higher. Just another electronic piece of garbage.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hey Alicat, the recommended temperature for a freezer is 0°F. This is adjustable for personal preferences. The temperature is factory preset to provide satisfactory food storage temperatures. It can take up to 24 hours from plugging in to reach the set temperature. If you would like to reset the controls to the factory preset temperature, please unplug the freezer for 3 minutes and then plug back in. Happy purchase!

We've had this freezer for about 2 months now, and I do like it. It's a perfect size for a family of 3-4. We replaced an older freezer because the door would open slightly when the door shelves had stuff in them. When the door on this freezer shuts, it stays shut, and you have to tug firmly to open it. I really like the temperature indicator on the outside of the door so you can tell at a glance that the temp is correct. I also appreciate the open door alarm...just in case! The slide out baskets are nice...you can actually find things without having to unload a shelf to get to the items in the back. The only drawback is that there is no shelf included at the very top of the freezer...there are brackets to hold one, but no shelf. But overall, this is a really nice freezer at a good price.

Great storage options

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've used our new Frigidaire frost-free freezer for about 6 weeks and love it. This is a well designed, efficient frost-free freezer with easy to use controls. The variety of baskets and shelves easily handle the multitude of sizes and types of food packaging. We LOVE the LED lighting on different levels of the freezer case making it easy to see all that we have. The 3 adjustable in-door shelves are great. Our old freezer had compatible door shelves so we added a couple of them to enhance the storage in this new freezer (Note to Frigidaire, please provide 4 - 5 adjustable door shelves).
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought a Frigidaire upright manual defrost freezer in 1989 and it was still working just fine in 2014. I just got really tired of defrosting it. I decided it was time to purchase a new freezer. After comparison shopping, I decided to purchase another Frigidaire because it has all the features I was looking for. The new, large, upright, self defrosting freezer runs quiet, has a digital temperature display, and is easy to clean. Best of all, no more defrosting!!! :-)
