I really like my stand mixer. I wish I loved it but twice now, that I've used it for mashed potatoes, there's a gray residue inside. I don't think it's a bad thing. I just don't understand how to get rid of it. I've cleaned it really good both time and this time, I wiped it down with vinegar.

It's hard to justify such an expensive purchase as a Kitchen-Aid Stand Mixer, but let me tell you! I'm a casual baker, and it has made my life SO much easier! I make breads, cookies, cakes, etc., with ease! It's really fun to do, especially bread, which used to be...less than fun...all that kneading. The only reason this didn't get five stars is because of the expense, but the equipment works incredibly. It's easy to clean, easy to use, and does everything a baker needs!

Nice Stand Mixer

I bought this mixer in January 2014 when my 30 year old Oster mixer motor died. I have used it to bake cakes, mix bread and pizza dough, and make cake frosting. It does all these jobs with ease. I bought the mixer with the 4 1/2 quart bowl. I regret I had not bought the next mixer bowl size up. The floor model mixer bowl had a handle on the bowl. I was disappointed when I opened the box the bowl that actually came with the mixer did not have a handle on it. The bowl and attachments are burnish and cannot be washed in the dishwasher. So we wash these by hand. We are very satisfied with the performance of the mixer.
