This is the second mixer I have purchased. My first one I purchased 36 years ago and I have never had a problem with it and it still runs great. I purchased this second one for our vacation home and I am sure it will give me many years of service also.

I have been wanting a KitchenAid Stand Mixer for quite some time now and finally received one as a gift for Christmas. I am so pleased! It makes the timely chore of mixing and kneading so effortless. It is easy to use, easy to clean and easy to store. I can't wait to use it for my next cumbersome recipe tonight!

I replaced my previous kitchenaid with this one about two months ago and am disappointed. When I use the dough hook, the dough climbs up the attachment and on to the actual mixer - which makes for a lot of clean up after. Also, the head of the mixer moves around when it is mixing on higher speeds, even though it is locked in position. I should have just tried to have my previous mixer repaired.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It never properly worked because it doesn't stay locked when switched to the "locked" position. It just bangs up and down and I have to manually hold it down.

I suffer from arthritis and my new KitchenAid stand mixer saves me from having to knead my bread. It turns out great everytime!
Cons: i wish there was a handle on the bowl.

Love my KitchenAid mixer (have always wanted one) but the one downside is that I do have to scrape the bowl a fair bit to get an even mix. I think it would be better if by default the mixer came with the bowl-scraping mixer attachment
