So quiet!!

Great dishwasher....bad smell!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this dishwasher several months ago. To start from the beginning ,it was packed/crated very well and arrived without a scratch. After unpacking I opened the door to retrieve the installation instructions (I installed it myself) and did I get a big surprise. I had read in the advertising that all Bosch dishwashers are test run before they are shipped. But what apparently what does not happen, at least to mine, they are not dried before they are closed and packed to ship. The smell when I opened the door was horrible. A musty, rancid, mildew smell. It was so wet inside the dishwasher that the instructions, which were sealed in plastic bags, were damp when I opened the bags! I left the dishwasher door open overnight and the smell dissipated somewhat but was still there the next day. The books did dry out overnight.
As for the installation instructions. The pictographs are very hard to understand and I had to stare at some of them for quite a while to see the difference between correct and incorrect. A few words under the pictures would go a long way to understanding the pictures. Most people can read!
I have since run the dishwasher several times and the horrible smell has gone. And while very subjective, the dishes and especially the glasses seem to "shine" more than those washed in my previous dishwasher. I especially appreciate that it is very quiet and during the first wash I had to check several times to make sure it was running.
Overall I would give it an A- just because of the smell.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far so good. Had the unit for about a week. It's quiet. Installation was straightforward. Dishes are cleaned well. Seems like there could be more flexibility in positioning the racks for uniquely sized items, but fine overall.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After two months I'm very pleased with the 300. Super quiet, cleans well, and stainless looks great. Mini racks that fold away if not used are useful. Cycles are longer than I'm used to so I use the Speed60 one hour wash. Big step up from my old, loud low end dw.

So Quiet!

We thought it worked fine and mostly wanted to match to other stainless appliances. WOW - what a difference. Our new dishwasher is so quiet and the dishes look much cleaner and sparkly. I wish we hadn't waited so long. I love the racks and the versatility that I didn't find in any of the other brands that we looked at.
