Works well enough

I purchased this as it was advertised as garage ready. I live in humid Florida. I've had the freezer for 2 months and there is already significant ice on the inside of the freezer. It keeps things frozen well enough and I haven't noticed any frost problems on the food.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi - Thanks for taking the time to post a review on your freezer! We're very gad that frost isn't forming on your food. Excessive frost buildup isn't unusual during periods of high humidity. To have your freezer operate most efficiently, don't permit more than 1/2" of frost to accumulate. Instructions for defrosting your unit can be found on page 6 in the owner's manual here: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-1000422.pdf

Nice freezer

Very happy with purchase, freezer is very nice has plenty of room for all kinds of food. The sliding shelves are a nice feature and having the light is a plus. Happy purchase!!

Perfect Freezer with Ideal Features

I bought this product to store meats as the prices remain on the rise. It got cold and within freezing temperatures only three hours after plugging it in. It’s the perfect size and holds the same temperature even if the weather is hot or cold outside.

Chest Freezer for the Garage!

Thus far, I am very satisfied with the freezer and the features that it has. It was a replacement for another freezer that I had for years and I was updating it and this one met our current needs.

Needs mid level track for baskets

Easy to install and freezes well. Would have preferred a mid-level track for more baskets so things don’t get lost in the bottom. (My Kenmore had them). The 3 baskets that came with this GE freezer were small and made of flimsy gauged wire. Disappointed in choices available for purchase; took 2 weeks for delivery .
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

just.got the freezer just the right size for us. Would have given a 5 but only had for one day. Will see how its preforms in the future.

Great Garage Freezer

Works exactly as advertised. I only wish I would have gotten the next larger size. I didn't take into account the thicker walls that garage freezers have but it keeps a consistent temp when my kids don't forget and leave the door open overnight!
