Freezer lid won’t stay up while pulling food out.

The freezer works BUT there are no storage options to organize things, except for 3 small baskets. The back isn’t fully enclosed, so I have to worry about mice, raccoons & other critters finding their way in; which could mess up the wiring and poses a danger. Most importantly though, from about 6 months in of owning this freezer, every time we get food out, the lid slams down on our heads!! The hydraulics on the hinge just stopped working. We have to literally hold it open with one hand, while getting food out with the other. Again, this is super inconvenient, to say the least!

Very roomy!

I really like the size of the freezer. I buy 1/2 a side of beef and a hog twice a year, and I still have room for frozen veggies, a deer, and other frozen items. It comes with 2 baskets to keep things separated, but I wish it came with one more one size bigger. The baskets are a tad small to hold more than a few bags of frozen veggies.

I have bought two of these models, and after a few years, each of them developed a coolant leak and could not be repaired and had to be thrown out. I will definitely not buy this model again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We definitely understand the importance of an appliance operating for an extended amount of time. However, it is not possible to determine the product failure rate, lifespan, or life expectancy of an appliance. There are multiple variables involved such as frequency of use, type of use, location of appliance, care, and maintenance.
