Silent, cold, sleek, big, all you could ask for

I've had this freezer since February 2015, and it's been performing flawlessly. It keeps everything nicely frozen, and there's not much frost buildup at all. There's a tiny bit around the wire edges of the baskets that hang inside the lip of the freezer, and a teeny bit at the top of the rear of the freezer, which just appeared recently during especially humid weather. I probably go into the freezer every other day, so I'm pleasantly surprised at the lack of frost buildup.
The thing is easy to check on, as there's a dim green light on the front, next to the temperature adjustment dial.
The inside light, which I thought was a little obnoxious at first, since it doesn't come on when you open the lid less than 45 degrees or so, is less obnoxious than I originally thought. I find myself going to the basement without turning on the light, and relying on the light in the freezer. Plus, there's not enough in there that I can just reach in without opening it all the way and pull something out anyway.
Probably my only gripe at this point has less to do with the freezer and more to do with the behavior of my room mates: The bumpy shiny inner metal surface seems somewhat easy to dent. I make a point to be gentle with my things, so they will last for ever, but my room mates, however, did not, so I have several small dents inside from ice packs and the like. They don't seem to be an issue other than cosmetically, however. The metal doesn't rupture, or anything that would suggest it could affect the heat-retaining properties of the unit. There's no frost collecting in the dents. I was just surprised how thin and malleable the inner layer seems to be.
All-in-all, I'd recommend this and most other GE appliances I've tried quite highly. It works well, is designed well, and shows all promise of lasting and working a good long while.

I received this freezer about 6 weeks ago. I love the room, and the baskets. I don't think I've really noticed it on my energy bill, and also I love that there is a light on the front to indicate that it's on and everything is A-OKAY!
