I bought this chest freezer and brought it home yesterday so I don't have long-term experience with it. However, my first impressions are quite positive.
The packing was good and easy to remove. The lower right, rear corner near the electrical cord had a dent in the freezer housing. There was no apparent damage to the cardboard packing. It's noticeable but minor and likely isn't the fault of the manufacturer. It most likely happened during shipping.
The fit/finish of the freezer is top notch. The lid/door closes tightly and feels very secure. The interior was clean and all the parts/manuals were secured for shipping and readily accessed.
The install instructions were simple: place it in an appropriate spot, ensure it's level, set the temperature to 4 and plug it in. That's what I did. I spent about 30 seconds adjusting one of the leveling feet. It started to get cold in minutes. Also, it's VERY quiet. The light inside the freezer is strong enough to illuminate the entire inside of the unit. The manual states the freezer can be located in areas where the temp ranges from 0 deg to 110 deg. That means garage placement should be just fine in our area.
It was cold enough to start to place frozen food into it within just a few hours. The size is great for us, a family of two. There are 3 removable baskets that can be used to keep frequently used items accessible.
The drain in the bottom should make defrosting a simple chore. I'm guessing this unit will provide years of efficient and hassle-free use.

Efficient - Large - Quiet

Installed this last fall and it has been working perfectly. No frost build-up at all, very quiet. Very efficient an keeps everything at the perfect temp, no freezer burn. Just what you would expect from a quality appliance.

I brought this GE chest freezer and I love the fact that it has a light on the inside as well as a lock to lock the freezer. It fit perfectly in my kitchen. I would continue to buy GE products, their great!

This freezer suits all of our needs. It arrived with a dent in the grill on the bottom left side but we did not return it due to how much we loved the look and features of the chest freezer. We love the amount of food you can store in it and the locking capabilities. We would highly recommend this freezer to everyone!
