Good freezer for the price

I bought this as a garage freezer and it is doing a good job so far. It does ice up rather quickly, but that is to be expected with the environment it sits in. The lock is pretty cheaply made, but will keep little kids out which is what it is probably intended to do. It is definitely not burglar proof.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I had to send the first one back I'ts was damaged so bad, but the company was very good about exchange and sending out different one with no problems, I would tell other friends were to buy any appliances for their home.

We bought this bigger one to replace one that has been around for 30 plus years. Wish we had purchased this one sooner. More things fit and the hanging racks are awesome for putting frequently used items. Worth the $$

We bought this freezer a month ago, because we were running out of freezer space in our fridge. It is the perfect size for us and has been running great! We will be recommending GE appliances to our family and friends!

-The freezer is big and roomy. Holds a lot. If it was full I think it would be difficult to find items at the bottom. We put 2 small plastic laundry baskets on the bottom to help organize items and we put mostly full gallon water jugs to help it run more efficiently since it isn't full. This also provides ice blocks for coolers in the summer than are easy to grab and refreeze - very convenient.
-There is a small internal light, glad we have a light overhead the appliance tho it is a comparable light to other freezers but not enough of the room has poor lighting.
-It does not auto defrost and we have not yet defrosted it. The instruction manual provides specific directions to defrost.
-We did lose power since having it and it maintained a good internal temperature without power for 36 hours. Manual says it will maintain cold much longer than 36 hours so I expected this.
-Nothing to comment on re: appearance. It's a big white box, like all chest freezers.
