I bought this ink awhile back because my printer kept saying I was about out. I still have not had to replace the ink cartridges. My husband always said to use this ink because it was the best.
The cartridge did not function well. Initially printer did not recognize the cartridge. Finally did. Then Only printed parts of the document and other parts were blurry or faded.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi,
I am sorry that you are having these printing problems.
Your printhead might need to be cleaned. Your printer should have an automatic routine to do that. Check the user guide, if you don't know how to start the cleaning.
If that helps, the printer might have been turned off using a power strip or switch. The printer should always be turned off using the power button on the printer itself. That will let the printer 'park' itself so that the printhead is protected from excess drying. That can cause clogs to form in the tiny nozzles that spray the ink onto the paper.
I feel stupid and don't know to purchase the right size ink container for my black ink! The colors always come in the narrow containers but the black comes in both narrow and wide containers. Every time I try to order the narrow one I still get the wide one. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? PLEASE ENLIGHTEN ME! its a good product but confusing. I ordered 3 packs and they are ALL WIDE!
Pros: Affordable

Hi,
I am sorry that this happened, but if you ordered the HP 564 2-Pack (as this comment shows you did), then you should have gotten the narrow container version.
It is the HP 564XL that is the wider version, and I'm not sure why you would have been sent that if the order was for the other kind. A lot of people prefer that size because it usually is a better value if you print a lot.
I've been purchasing the HP 564 Black ink cartridges ever since I bought my HP 5520 All-in-one printer and have always been happy with how sharp the printing is, even down to the end of the cartridge.
Purchased a set of new cartridges in attempts at fixing my printer that suddenly stopped printing black. This was the second new cartridge and after a lot of frustration trying to clean print head I gave up. Should have not wasted my money

Hi,
I am so sorry that the printer is not printing black and for the frustration that has caused you!
It sounds like you have done the right thing by cleaning the printhead. Sometimes, if the nozzles are badly clogged, you would need to do the cleaning multiple times, or replace the printhead (if it is replaceable - it has a latch on the side).
If cleanings do fix the problem, it could be that the printer was turned off by using a power strip or a switch. The printer should always be turned off using the power button on the printer itself. That allows the printer time to protect the printhead from excess drying.
