I'm sorry to hear that the Photo cartridge was only used once and is now not working. However, we might be able to fix it.
Since it worked OK at first, I'm going to take a guess that the printhead needs cleaning. If it does, that is a pretty easy process. Your printer should have an automatic routine to do that. Check the user guide, if you don't know how to start the cleaning.
If that helps, the printer might have been turned off using a power strip or switch. The printer should always be turned off using the power button on the printer itself. That will let the printer 'park' itself so that the printhead is protected from excess drying. The drying can cause clogs to form in the tiny nozzles that spray the ink onto the paper.
If it was just a defective genuine cartridge, you can contact HP support for a replacement as long as the warranty date (printed on the cartridge) has not passed: hp.com/contactHP
My HP printer requires 4 small cartridges and one larger black one. Current color cartridge packs do NOT include the small black cartridge. I despaired of locating this one until I learned that it is labeled a “photo” cartridge. I thought I was going to have to purchase a more up to date printer.
I purchased this ink when my printer was acting up, not printing black clearly or at all. Once I installed it I no longer need a new printer. Great savings!
