Worth the wait

Clearly the best DSLR overall camera on the market today. No others come close. Outdoor stills, video & sound are the best I have ever seen. Great viewfinder, features & build quality. Camera is heavy & large compared to my old Rebel, but it feels substantial & balances my large lenses well. Flash JPEGs are a little gaudy sometimes. 2 In viewfinder aids to indicate camera level are difficult to use. You can easly pass the level indication. Those systems needs refinement. The one on the rear screen is better. Very complicated, but it can do so much more than any other camera. Well worth the money. I waited 5 years for this model to come out & it was well worth the wait.
Pros: quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation
Cons: Difficult to use, Heavy/Bulky, Complicated controls/menu

My aging Rebel XTi died while on vacation which prompted an upgrade. I decided on an EOS 70D and looked around for a deal. I only required a body.
Having found that virtually all suppliers had the same price, I noticed a pre Black Friday offer on one refurbished body direct from Canon at a very impressive saving.
The camera arrived very fast and the only difference between this and a 'new' body was that it came in a white box rather than a Canon box.
The camera itself is excellent, and adds to a long history of Canon cameras I have had.

Its a solid camera

This is my first canon I shot with another brand for 20 yrs and i wasn't happy as of late.I picked up the canon 70d at a store and played with the camera fell in love with it, it is very easy to use.,I have some awesome images from this camera, It's slightly underrated. but overall I'm very happy I just wish it was a full frame, but I'll have to wait for 6dII,

DEFENDING THE 70D

From FTB to present 70D I can't tell you how happy I've been with Canon products, and the 70D is a perfect example. Simply couldn't be happier with how well it performs!

I bought this camera because it was the best of both worlds. I could capture a great photograph as well as great video footage. 2 years ago I was a little bit green when it came to photography. After an internship at a studio and a few classes I definitely know how to take a photograph. Unfortunately this camera has given me several issues with the focus when I am photographing. When I am shooting live view videos it seems to be fine... This is not a user error. I have had every camera guru take a look at this for me and after extreme doubt have read all over the internet about this problem. Unfortunately I will need a new camera body and am working with the camera shop to exchange.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I went from a t2i to a t3i and now to the 70d people it the best camera when your coming from that line up and also the price as well it preforms awesome please buy if you have the money and looking for a awesome upgrade please buy this camera you will be please I have had mine for 2 months now it awesome.

It`s a very good camera, in a very good price, I like to much the movement of the screen, to do some picture our some videos is very good option.

My first DSLR

Great camera for the price. Full of features. I use a 50mm f/1.4 USM lens and the pics come out fairly well but sometimes fuzzy. Not sure I like the cropped sensor experience though, especially when using EF lenses.
