Absolutely amazing camera for the money. The digic 5+ processor and the extra megapixels make this camera outperform the 7D. Low Light shooting is superb and At 7FPS it's fast enough for sports and action. And with its ability to autofocus in video mode with almost all EF and EF-S lenses.... Way to go Canon. Very happy I upgraded from the 7D.
Pros: Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, easy to use

I just sold my 7 year old Canon 40D and upgraded to the 70D. WOW! I cannot say enough great things about how well this camera performs. Yes, you can spend more and get some really fancy bells and whistles, but the 70D is packed with pro features that cover so many of my needs. As a photog of 45 years, this camera is worth the minimal cost with some mid-range lenses. All I will say without covering all the tech stuff is if you are looking for a camera that's tight, quick, quiet and versatile, the Canon 70D is it!
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

Great Camera!

I purchased the Canon 70D just before Christmas last year to replace my previous camera that was ten years old. When researching my purchase, I initially thought I would purchase the Canon T5i, but after reading various reviews, I decided to go for the 70D. I figured that as long as I was investing in a new DSLR camera, I would go for the extra features of the mid-level 70D. I am not a professional photographer, but I was looking for good, high quality photos and I knew the 70D would give me all that I was looking for in a camera for many years to come. I went with the 18-135mm lens, as it will give me the best overall range for just about any photos that I will want to take. On the first day of shooting photos, I did a quick look at the info with the camera and decided to try taking some night shots of Christmas lights, just to see what I would get. I ended up with some very nice photos, without even using a tripod. On general photos, the quality has been excellent. The speed of the 70D is also very fast. I had hated the lag time when taking photos with my old camera or cell phone camera, but that is not an issue at all with the 70D. I have a lot more to learn about using the 70D and its many features and capabilities, but thus far I am very impressed and highly recommend this camera.

i just picked up this camera a few days ago. I switched from the t4i. If I would have known that the difference would be like night and day I would have done this a year ago. Admittedly I thought the transition would be nonexistent, boy was I wrong. The placement of buttons and even the power switch took a little getting used to it. After practicing with it for a few days I have gotten used to it. The focus speed of this camera compared to my old one is also amazing. I used to think my 50mm lens was loud and slow. It is definitely loud but not slow anymore. I did not realize that a camera change could make so much difference. My pics in low light are incredible. Ok I'm officially done salivating.

All in One Camera!

Its quality image in High ISO is very good comparing with the same level camera of other companies. It is great for videoing and its image quality is great specifically that details is very obvious at the focus points. The bulit-in wireless connection is an awesome feature that one camera can have. Other than all these, the brand new dual pixel sensor make it much more faster to autofocus using 19 cross-type AF points. If you use STM type lenses, you will never hear any "rrr-rrr-rrr" sound. Never forget that how easy is video recording using its touch screen It is a great camera and you will enjoy if you get that. The only concern that I have is its metering and auto white balance where you take a photo indoor. It has a tendency to make photos more red/pink.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, Superior build quality, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use, built in wifi, excellent focus/auto focus, touch screen, high iso quality

I waited a long time to buy this beause I wanted to see what the 7D mark II was going to be like. I really was looking for the articulated viewing screen as I do a lot of low level photography. Sorry, the 7d mark II didn't have it. However, I love this camera. It has a lot of reallly cool fun features that I enjoy experimenting with

I purchased the EOS 70D to keep up with the competition in the stock photo industry. There were specific features that I was interested in, including ruggedness, image quality, image size, zone focus, the new auto focus screen and the in camera chromatic aberration elimination feature. All the new features have performed splendidly, the camera is very fast and the image quality superb. I have not yet had an image rejected by and editor for any reason.

I do sports photography for the local High School. Getting great shots with a Sigma 17-50MM 2.8 lens. No need for flash & getting great low noise shots at high ISO. Focusing is quick & spot on! Love this camera!
