I feel like a complete sucker for buying this junk

So I bought these thinking I was getting a good pair of headphones based on the examples they had at the store and what the best buy clerk had to tell me...clearly he gets commission for selling these... and I admit they sound pretty darn good. Anyway 1 year later the plastic has cracked on the insides, which cannot be replaced, I tried to call customer service who said I basically would have to pay $159 where they would basically replace the ones I have now. The cushioning is already separating around the earphones and now I can't even get them to turn on. I always considered myself a savvy buyer of things but I let myself down. Don't let this happen to you, do your research like I should have done and DO NOT BUY THESE TINKER TOY HEADPHONES!!!!! I even included some lovely pics to show my frustration. Can't believe I spent $300 on these and the are already $100 off now, no wonder.

major upgrade from old studios

Love my headphones, MAJOR upgrade from the old studios. Clear sound.
Only thing im cautious about, is it snapping. I've read reviews about that, so ill be sure to buy a protection plan for that.
Also I Feel as though it is a bit tight.

I was listening to skullcandy headphones and thought those were the best until I listened to the beats they are worth the price of admission.

Is it worth $300?

How Often Used:3-5 times a week
I can still hear the flight attendant's safety briefing so it isn't as noise cancelling as I'd hoped. When I sweat at the gym, I'm afraid I'm going to ruin such an expensive item, however the foam pads sit far off the ear enoug that sweat doesn't get into the internals very easily. The case is bulkier than the Bose model. The base is very good! They are pretty darn loud but some flights and downloaded movies, I wish they were a little louder. I think white is a btter looking color and I iwsh I could try the Bose ones to see if they are better.
What's great about it: Sounds good and loud, fairly well amplified
What's not so great: Seem kind of flimsy for $300 and noise-cancelling technology is not perfect yet
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good sound, but very poorly made!

I want to start by saying the sound on the beats studio are great. Amazing sound. I do have one problem, though, they are poorly made.
I have pair of Studio (1st gen). I would just use them once or twice a month, and they were great. Now, that I use them constantly, the heat from using them throughout the day has caused the padding to peal and cushion to come off. It is embarrassing that I paid $300 for something that is going to fall apart after 2 years of very minimal use. I took great care of them, but still that didn't work. To make matters worse, the left side makes static noises, and one of the screws fell off out of no where. I need new headphones, but I am very disappointed at the quality of the headphones.
I give it one star because the sound is great, but the quality is HORRIBLE! It baffled me that something this expensive would fall apart, once, you start using them constantly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A bit bright in the treble area for me

How Often Used:1-2 times a week
I have owned the original Beats Studio since it first came out 5 years ago. Unlike some people I loved the way they sounded in all types of music that I listened too. So needless to say I was very excited when I heard that they had "upgraded" them. I bought them immediately and sold my others. I loved the look, the weight, and the rechargeable battery and even the awesome battery gauge. I loved the new ones, until I listened to them... I found the bass very much lacking from the old ones, and the treble to be too bright on a number of songs. I couldn't find any consistency in the sound. While some folks will appreciate the toning down of the bass level, it just wasn't for me. I was disappointed and wanted my old ones back. I've since returned the new ones and will probably end up buying the old ones again. A lot of folks may still like he new sound better, they didnt sound bad, just not as good as the old ones. To me anyway.
What's great about it: recahrgeable, light, battery gauge
What's not so great: i thought the treble was way to bright as compared to the old ones
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
