Terribly difficult to open the door
on October 25, 2019

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Terrific size and capabilities. However, it is terribly difficult to open the door without feeling the weight on my weak back as a result of keeping the freezer from slightly tilting forward if I am not careful each and every time. I had the older version of this upright model and it was not difficult to open at all.

Hello Sophie817. When you open your fresh food or freezer door, warm air rushes inside. When you close the door, all the warm air rushes to the evaporator, which in turn causes a vacuum. If you close one of the doors but then need to open one again, the vacuum makes the doors will be hard to open for about 10 to 15 seconds after closing .Once the air equalizes, the door will open as normal again. To alleviate some of the suction, try rubbing paraffin wax or petroleum jelly along the edges of the entire gasket. Paraffin wax is used for canning and is safe for use around food. If you would to speak about these matters in more detail, please give our team a call. Our team may be reached by calling 1- 800-374-4432 Mon - Fri, 8:30am - 8pm (EST). Kindly, Anna

Remarkable Seal
on October 26, 2019

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I never write a review, but felt it would be an injustice to not do so. I purchased two of the Frigidaire upright freezers. Six months after the purchase, my home flooded with almost five feet of water, it was devastating. A week later after returning to our home, we open the freezers and noticed that not only was everything still cold, but the seal had held tight!! This was our first Frigidaire purchase, but will not be our last!!

Love the Extra Room!
on October 28, 2019
Posted by: LinRun427
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this freezer to replace one we had for almost 30 years. This is larger and I love the extra room! Seems to keep all our food frozen well. We ended up ordering 2 more shelves to maximize the space inside. The only thing I would have liked was a basket to go on the bottom. It doesn't appear that we are able to order one either that would fit all the way across the bottom. Also the door was hard to open at first, but you learn how to grab it at the bottom and jerk it open. I would recommend this brand and size.

Noisy
on October 28, 2019

When closing the door on our previous freezer, we could hear air being pulled from the freezer compartment. When closing the door with this freezer, there is a loud whistling sound coming from the back.
When loading this freezer, we had the door open maybe 10 times over the course of an hour or two, for maybe one minute each time. By the time we were done, the whistling sound became a loud gurgling noise.
I can't believe this is considered "normal", but everything in there is frozen. Lot's of room.

Hi, KimKen.

Thanks for your review and rating!

We’re happy to learn how much you’re enjoying the spacious interior of your freezer.

You may hear air being forced through the freezer by the evaporator or condenser fan, which can create a whistling air noise. The whistling air noise is a part of the operation when this occurs. Also, constantly opening the door will promote your compressor to switch on and adjust to the warm temperature coming inside the fridge, which may produce or make the “gurgling” sound more noticeable.

Should you feel the sound is becoming louder, please give us a call. Our Customer Care Department can be reached by dialing 800-374-4432, and available Monday through Friday from 8:30 am-8pm EST.

We appreciate your feedback and for choosing our brand for your home.

Regards-
Derrick
