No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great simple features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This unit has worked great since plugged in a month ago. Freezes food fast and does it quietly. Comes with a plastic sheathing cover on the complete door to keep the finish protected. Great spacious unit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like the open space and the light inside this freezer. What I didn't like is how noisy it is. I didn't plug it in before I bought it and when I got it home I was a little shocked to hear how noisy it was. It is in my garage with its back close to the wall of my living room. When it was running it sounded like there was a truck running in my garage. With some investigation on noise reducing materials I ended up putting two layers of half inch sound board on the back using silicone sealant. It is so quiet now I can hardly even hear it even when I'm in the garage. It hardly even runs now because I think the back of this freezer really needs extra insulation. Super quiet with my modification and I am really excited to see my electric bill because it hardly ever runs and my old freezer of 30 years ran all the time. Anyway I really like the freezer now.
