Awesome litte speakers

I bought these speakers to beef up the sound on my netbook. For that they are great. They are powered from a USB port. Fot a speaker used with a portable computer this is a must have feature. The sound is the best you can expect from such a small speaker. It is loud and clear. There is some, but not much bass. The speakers feature a tone control in adition to the basic volume control. This really adds to the listening experience. I have found the sound to be great for games, movies and video. It is adequate for music. The only thing I could say I don't like is the speakers are pretty big to carry around with a laptop or netbook. I don't think they were really designed with that in mind. Honestly I would not use these with a desktop where size and self-contained power are not an issue. I would get something else. For that purpose an entry level 2.1 set would be more suited.
What's great about it: almost everything
What's not so great: A little bulky
I would recommend this to a friend!

Easy to install these speakers and in return get quality sound for a decent price.
What's great about it: Does the job of providing quality sound.
What's not so great: Nothing in particular unless your looking for a sub-woofer and extra speakers
I would recommend this to a friend!

I read many reviews before buying, on first day, I knew quality was not good. Worst than what I had. Just not as loud as I wanted it to be, when my old one was louder

What's not so great: sound qualtiy

I was actually browsing for for new speakers to replace these speakers. I saw the reviews so high and had to comment. I purchased these speakers about six months ago for use on a old IBM laptop that has very poor speakers. The sound volume was NOT an improvement. I have since upgraded my laptop to a Sony Vaio F series. The HP speakers are not even as loud as my Vaio speakers which all in all are not that great. On top of poor volume, the quality is reflected by the price.
What's great about it: Nothing
What's not so great: Sound volume and quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
