Spending months in our search paid off

We have been happy with our choice over six months and are happy with our choice. Its design and programmable options as factory provided meet easily all our demands. Unfortunately we could not take advantage of outside venting, which would be more efficient than the recycling vent option. (Starting the vent prior to range-top cooking helps eliminate steam and smells, however.)
The buttons on the touch screen are stiff, but hopefully will continue to perform well over the long term.
All in all the size, efficiency, sturdiness, and design of the appliance have met our expectations well.

Pros: wide range of preset options, powerful and fast, easy to clean
Cons: touch buttons "light" & "vent" & hard to press, even at high recycling vent is subpar to external

Poor quality. Review guidelines prevent us from explaining why we are disappointed. Looks and marketing hype can be deceiving.

Installation requirements are not clear prior to purchase

I purchased this product to replace a 12-year-old GE Profile microwave. However, after I purchased it and read the installation instructions, it was clear that the cabinets above and around the microwave could not extend beyond 12". My cabinet above the microwave is 15".
I could not find this installation requirement in any of the literature on-line, but it was clear in the instructions included in the box. It appears that either the air intake (or exhaust) was installed on the top/front section of the microwave, which is why a cabinet cannot extend beyond 12". If it did, then the intake/exhaust would be covered by the cabinet. This was not an issue with my old microwave, so it wasn't something that I even considered when purchasing a replacement.
Overall, my rating reflects the design and on-line information. I could not use the product, but had to rate it to get to this section of the review.
Cons: Did not meet expectations, add cabinet requirements on internet instructions.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Adds elegance to our kitchen

Love this microwave. Read all the reviews before purchasing and I have to say people were right on with their reviews. Looked at a lot of brands and none could compare with the look of the Samsung. Very pleased with this and definitely would recommend to anyone considering purchasing an OTR microwave.

Button Problems

When the unit works it is great. Sensor cooking is awesome. However, the installation is above a gas oven. The front plate get extremely hot even when running the microwave fan. The hot burner on the oven in front left side and the buttons on the left side of the microwave have problems working. The operating manual specify that it is approved to use above gas or electric oven. I have only used the microwave for 6 months and all ready a service call and a door on order. When out of warranty I will probably swap it out for one with buttons on right side or a stand alone. My first microwave was Samsung with buttons on right side and never had problems. Used with a Samsung induction oven. This is new house with gas and I wanted another Samsung microwave because of previous experience.
Pros: great looking unit, great service response
Cons: Did not meet expectations
