Great Printer

I purchased this printer (refurbished) from a well known retailer. It was easy to set-up since I only used the USB cable from printer to computer. Wireless is okay, but USB cable is simple and more secure.
I like all the features and the duplex printing is great. That was one of the features that caught my eye. It prints fast and kicks out multi pages faster than any of my previous ink jet printers did.
I like the laser printer toner verses the liquid ink jet. The ink jet dries if not used daily and I seem to waste more ink (black and color) having to clean my print-heads constantly.
You cannot go wrong with the laser printer and you can trust Brother Printers.

Multiple Use Printer

This wireless printer is easy to use and need not be near the computer. Set up with multiple devices is great. Prints quickly and legibly. It is somewhat heavy, but not an issue if you have a sturdy table. Happy I purchased it!

A great black and white printer and copier

Overall a great printer. Lover the scanner for copying odd items that wont go through a feeder. Love the Bluetooth to print from my phone. It's a little louder when printing but tolerable. Footprint is big too but new that it would be. So far toner lasting well.

I have two of these printers ... one at my office and one at home. They are very good. I have found that I seldom actually need color. For those few pages where it is needed, I just email it to a local copy shop. That is much, much cheaper than feeding an inkjet printer hundreds of dollars for ink cartridges.
The document feeder works really, really well. It is *extremely* unusual for there to be any problems.
Quick and easy wireless setup.
Extremely long life on toner cartridges and the replacement cost is very fair.

Non-intuitive two line display screen

This is a very solid product with a few quirks. The main problem is that you cannot copy from paper printed on both sides without going through a lot of work (running the originals twice, first on one side and then on the other and then interleaving the resulting copies). For a machine that will print on both sides, this is a major shortcoming.
The two line display is accessed from different buttons, which bring up different menus. Figuring out how to get what you want (enlarge a copy, for example), is entirely non-intuitive; indeed, I thought it was not possible to enlarge copies for quite some time until I stumbled upon the display reading allowing such changes.
For a machine as capable as this one, with good quality printing and seamless wireless connectivity, these are odd deficiencies.
