Sound good, Wiring is poor

I have owned this for a little less than 2yrs. The covering for the noise canceling activation part has completely peeled off. With the way the wiring is attached to it , you have to always bend and stress the wiring when you want to fold the earphone back into the soft case....eventually this eats at the wiring which is what I have now- the wiring are exposed.and 1 of the earbud is complete mute as a result.
I would like another but not sure I want to invest in this again.

Fantastic product.

I read many reviews regarding these headphones. I own a pair of over the ear Bose noise canceling headphones which I love. The only problem I find is when traveling. The case takes up quite a bit of space.
Now with the QC20 headphones I get the same amount of quality noise canceling along with great music playback. They are definitely worth the money.

Awesome noise cancelling power
on June 21, 2018

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these almost a month ago. I have been very happy with them in regards to noise cancelling power. I am a truck driver and there is lots of noise the cab and sleeper so using these earbuds really helps cut down noise levels. I even use them sleeping while in the truck. I have been sleeping a whole lot better as a result. I clip it to my shirt collar then run the wire down inside my shirt and put the battery end in my pocket.
There are cons. First of all, I do not like 90 degree plug, I wish they made it with a straight plug. Secondly, the audio quality for calls on other end is poor. People often complain they cannot hear me, there too much background noise or I sound like I am talking through a tunnel. This only seems to be when I am in a noisy environment.
I gave 3 stars on ease of use because it's hard to tell which bud is right or left. Would be nice I'd they were colored or marked differently. Secondly, the cord has a sticky silicone feel to it which makes it a little hard to untangle the wire. If the wire had a more silky smooth feel, the wire would be much easier to untangle and it would not hang up so much on my clothes.

Great Sound, Clunky Design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The sound quality is stellar and nothing short of what I have come to expect from Bose. I am an unwavering and devoted fan of this brand, however, the design is where these headphones fail me. Initially, the rechargeable battery pack makes for an impressive feature. You can toggle the noise cancellation on and off at your leisure. Where it gets messy I suppose is with the actual weight of this part. It's too heavy thus causing the headphones to easily come out of the headphone jack at even the slightest touch. It's really annoying. Say you're jogging, and don't have the headphones plugged in just right and free from any obstruction, you will be mid-run and they'll fall out. Have your phone in your bag without being really careful to wrap the pack around it? It's slipping it out. This happens often. If you are on the move a lot, you will have to be stealthy when it comes to placement of the jack. Also, it would be nice if the headphones knew when they weren't plugged into anything. You will drain your battery if you forget to turn off the cancellation switch. The clumsy design makes them just okay, in my opinion. I am looking forward to the next iteration of these since they weren't inexpensive by any means.

Absolutely Love!

I bought these for travel and for studying and they've been amazing! I usually have trouble with these short of ear buds but these fit great and never hurt my ears even when I wear them for hours. The noise cancelling feature is great and lasts for awhile between charges. Yes, they were a bit pricy but for as much as I use them, it's been worth it!

Amazing Noise Cancelling but Weak Wires
on September 24, 2018

Length of ownership:1 year or longer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These headphones work exactly as advertised: I've worn them on 14 hour flights, through loud city streets and in quiet areas, and I've had no issues with comfort, noise cancelling or noise leaking.
My main issue with them: the wires fray after about a year of use. I had one previous set exchanged free of charge because it was within a year of purchase, but the second set (pictured) started fraying after a year.
To Bose's credit, there's almost no difference in performance, even though it looks (and feels) like the wires will rip apart. There's a slight droning noise when the wires are flat, but if I mess with the positioning, the droning noise goes away. The state of the wires has since stabilized, and I've been using the headphones in this condition for about a year now.
Other than the wire issue, which so far has been more of a visual problem, these headphones are absolutely perfect for prolonged noise-cancelling use. Each time they start fraying within a year, I'd recommend exchanging for a new set, and you can get a few extra years of use without paying more.

Fragile cable

I like this premium ear buds and since I bought this in 2014 this is essential for trans-Pacific travels, which QC20 had made comfortable with great cancelling of white noise during the flights and long battery life. BUT, the cable connection to both sides of the unit is too fragile. I am keeping it working by putting tapes after starting to have this issue 1.5 yrs later, but this is really ugly for a piece costing a few hundred bucks. Also the rubber cover for the unit is also torn, which is ok without affecting function. But this cable issue is really annoying and make it a piece of junk if I put take not at a right angle. This must improved with a newer version and hopefully Bose offers replacing this poorly functioning unit with a new one.
