Listen if you are going to buy headphones from Bose they have to be noise cancelling, for me it makes all the diference in the world, well almost because the sound is excellent compared to other brands.

I was given these headphones as a gift over the summer. I ride a Kawasaki Ninja as my main source of transportation. Oftentimes I've been rained on with these in my ears. They never stop working. I'm not saying their water proof, but they've definitely taken my rough lifestyle. Though not without showing wear, the material around the rechargeable battery started to peel off, though I know its because they've gotten wet so many times.
I recently lost the tips, and called in to see how I could buy more. I informed the representative that my friend also got me Apple ones instead of Samsung, as I have Samsung. They're not only sending me an entirely new pair, new tips and everything, they're sending me the correct Samsung version. Rest assured, Bose will take care of you.
As to performance, once I turn on that noise reduction switch, I am in an entirely different world. I have definitely angered off my boss at work more than once because I cannot hear her banging on the door for me to let her into the bakery, despite standing right next to the door. That's just the thing though, I don't like hearing her. During study time here at VT I can turn the volume down slightly so as to not distract me, turn on the noise reduction, and be fully engrossed in my work.
They include a different range of sizes for the tips, and I have ran with them without a singly issue. They stay in my ears and are extremely comfortable. Unlike other in ear headphones, they do not start to hurt after a long period of use. Speaking of which I never am disappointing with battery life. If they do happen to run out, a short charge will last you a very long time. These headphones will not disappoint you.

Even great for gaming...

I have owned these for over a year now. I am a veteran Bose aficionado and presently own and use several different headsets as well as PC and home sound systems. I have yet to find any other brand of headphones that have the quality packaging, feel, and deliver the quality true sound experience that Bose does. These particular headphones excel in noise cancelling, cinematic emersion, music performance, and even work well in gaming environments as a game sound and chat device using it on Xbox One through the 3/8ths comm port on the controller. The 9p degree connector is ideally suited for this as well but the short tail should have been a little longer on the battery, maybe 5 cm or so more. The mic pics up well but cancels about as well as the noise cancelling of the headset reduction of outside noise ability does. I do use these occasionally even when I could use the bluetooth Bose headset because of it's noise cancelling even with the trade off of smaller drivers.

Purchased the Headphones in April of 2015. Using them at the office to listen to podcasts and music. Sound and Noise Cancelling is great. Very crisp sound when the on switch is turned on. Only disappointing thing is the adhesive used to hold the two parts of the earbud together came apart.

Love Noise Cancelling hate Microphone placement

I bought the headphones half a year ago and used the them many times. Even if I'm on an airplane, in the bus where a school class walks in or in the classroom I'm very the noise cancelling function works great. Now to the part I can not understand how BOSE could overlook such a design mistake. When I'm using the microphone to call someone they can't hear me. I order to call I have to position the microphone very close to my mouth and hold it while talking, if I don't do so the person on the other end hears all surrounding noises but not my voice.
I think it can be an easy design fix since talking on the phone with my old BOSE headphones worked perfectly. The microphone should be placed higher and closer to the mouth. I would be so happy if you could fixed that if theres ever a new Version.

Recently purchased these to block out sound from fellow employees, even with the white noise background I can here conversations from 3 desks away. I'm not interested in listening to music I want to completely drown out the conversations around me.......any suggestions?

Its a Bose product

I brought this product about a year ago. These are the best in-ear headphones I have ever owned. The noise canceling ability is by far the best I ever had. I had a problem with the right ear piece the other day. I would hear a loud squeal every time I put them in noise canceling mode. I took them back to the store and in five minutes I was walking out with a brand new pair. These headphones are great but BOSE customer service is the reason that I by original BOSE products.

I have had these ear buds for over two years and I love them. I carry them with me every day & I wear them to sleep every night. They are very useful for a "high-functioning" person diagnosed with Asperger's like me, because they can reduce some background noise but are able to blend in as regular ear buds. They aren't Super Effictive as noise cancelling, if that's what you're looking for more than anything, I'd get ear plugs or drumming or construction worker's ear protecting headsets. They won't be able to play music, but they'll block more noise. If you're looking for something that is primarily able to play music, I would recommend these with all my heart. The main appeal is the music, and the secondary appeal is the noise cancelling. I've worn these at concerts, high school pep rallies, and even at drag show performances, and these ear buds help reduce the noise to a tolerable level. However, if you use them every day like I do, they'll get pretty worn. The soft plastic covering the box that you have to recharge has fallen off, and the wires on both sides of that have become exposed and I had to superglue them back. This is after a year of constant use/abuse by me, a high schooler, who shoves them into skinnyjean pockets frequently. They haven't been handled with much (or any) care bc they're part of my every day life, and they've held up surprisingly well. I've had to replace them twice over the years, once because one ear bud stopped working and so did the grey button that allows you to hear people with the noise cancelling on, and once because the grey button stopped working again, and because the wires were exposed. I would recommend these ear buds to anyone who has the money to get them!! I am going to wear these for the rest of my life, if possible. I've never had any other ear buds that fit me as well as these. I can (and do) wear them for hours and they don't hurt my ears at all. I plan on buying a second pair of these when I'm older and have more money. I'll be honest, I listen to music constantly, and I love the sound in these, but the main appeal is the fact it combines low-level noise cancelling with music and is comfortable, I don't really know or care much about the quality of sound because I'm 17, but I reckon it's pretty good. The only drawback is there's a bit of a hissing noise when the noise cancelling is on, and it does a funny thump when someone slams a car door because it isn't sure how to react.
