I love these headphones, I use them everyday. They make hearing a phone call in the store or on the street so much easier to hear.
You can listen to your music or movies at a much lower volume in loud areas or on a plane.
My wife and son liked them so much they bought a pair for themselves.

Noise Canceling Ear Buds That Wrok

I got the QC20 for my wife and she loved them. She gave away her QC-15's. I tried them and fell in love. I have been using the android model. I kept my QC-15's and do find them a bit more effective, if more cumbersome, on long flights. But I use my QC-20's at the gym, on shorter flights, in the car, and in my shop. The QC-20s are the only noise canceling earbuds I have tried that actually work. I bought the Sony model when it came out. I have tried a few knock offs. None really worked. The Bose QC 20's actually work.
If you are into fine audio quality this review will not help you much. I am not an aficionado. I am into sound canceling effectiveness, clarity of podcasts and clarity movies, and coping with conference calls in noisy airports.
By the way the Android model works fine on Apple products (with fewer button controls) but the Apple model will not work properly on Android phones. (You can listen but the microphone will not work)

BEST earphones ever!!

Excellent product

I bought this more than a year ago and have used it in different situations.
Pros:
1. Very compact to carry in my bag or travel. Virtually takes no space at all.
2. Sturdy wires, much better compared to what I received with my iPhone (but then again, iPhone EarPods cost 30$).
3. Minimal tangling of the wires, makes it a pleasure to even carry them in my pocket.
4. Very secure fit.
5. Excellent noise cancelling, while commuting as well as in all situations, like just walking in a mall and talking on my mobile, the external noise is so little that I don't have to crank up the phone volume at all.
6. As with all Bose products, sound quality is excellent when the noise cancelling is turned on but not so good when the noise cancelling is switched off or battery is dead. This is not a big deal for me or a deal breaker. That is the only con I can describe.
7. Waiting for wireless version of these ear phones and will replace them.

Good Headphones

I bought these a couple of years ago and I love them. I tend to use them the most at night when my husband starts to snore. I just reach down the cord and flip on the noise-cancellation. While not perfect for just noise cancelation, by the time you add your favorite music, you are good to go. The sound is great and the headphones are comfortable. I thought they were somewhat pricey, but they have lasted my nightly use. I recommend them.

I bought this 1.5 years ago and absolutely LOVE it! Originally got the over-the-ear Bose Noise Cancelling headphones about 4 years ago to use on flights, but desired something more compact, so got these ear buds. They very effectively cancel noise on flights--just as effective as the over-the-ear headphones. (With both headsets, I find I am much less fatigued after a cross country flight--they really work!) The music quality is fabulous. I love these so much that I use them all the time--on the bus commute, when walking on noisy city streets. It is like being surrounded by a calm and peaceful cloud of music in the midst of a hectic noisy world. yes, they are expensive, but worth every dollar. I highly recommend them!

Better Than I Hoped

These noise cancelling in-ear buds are absolutely the best. I couldn't believe how effective the noise cancelling feature is! I often wear them on my train commute and they cancel out almost ALL external sounds. Plus the music quality of the ear buds is typical Bose quality with the full range of sound from highs to bass. I also love the fact that the buds are comfortable after wearing for 2 hours and fit securely in my ears thanks to the 3 sizes of ear buds to choose from. They don't loosen or fall out even when walking or running to catch a train! I was even more pleased with these than I hoped for, and I'm a big fan of Bose products (have several). Don't be sidetracked buy other nitpicky reviewers who expect these to be something other than what they are designed for.

Good.... but

I am now on my third QuietComfort 20 headphones as the first two cables failed (one after 6 months; the second after 18 months) despite very little use and no wear and tear. I just received my third replacement pair yesterday only to find out that the new iPhone wont have a headphone jack so now these are useless to me. When I requested a replacement several weeks ago, it would have been nice to know that
