Impeccable Sound Quality

When I received these earphones, I first tried them without the noise cancelling feature and they sounded like any other ear buds on the market. But when i turned the noise cancelling on, it was like being in a concert hall. Very rich and vibrant sound.
But the true test was how they performed on an airline flight. Usually when I fly, I use my QC15 around ear headset. On the flight last week I was pleasantly surprised with the performance of the QC 20 ear phones. While they did not quite cancel all of the ambient noise, they did cancel about 90% of the noise that the QC15's cancel. Quite impressive for an in ear headphone. If you are looking for an in ear solution, these are the earphones to have!

Excellent Noise Cancellation!

I must first start my review by stating that I'm part of the Bose Test & Review program and received the headphones at no charge for testing purposes. I appreciate the opportunity to test the products.
The headphones are beautifully boxed and come with all needed documentation, plus 3 different sizes of ear inserts to assure proper fit. After spending a few minutes getting accustomed to the headphones, I connected them to my iPhone 6 S Plus and began my testing.I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the earphones feel in the ear... a lot of improvement from the earlier version Bose headphones. The headphones have a pleasant balanced sound with plenty of low end, so they worked well with most types of music. Now for the most important area: the noise cancellation. I was shocked at the ability of the circuitry to cancel not only "white noise", but to cancel distinctive sounds, such as speech and horns. I was almost eerie to not hear anything except my own breathing when there was no music playing... that must be what the Astronauts experience in the vacuum of space. :-) DO NOT use these if you are driving! That would create a dangerous situation. I used the headphones in a variety of situations: night clubs, noisy computer server rooms, traveling, etc. The noise cancellation feature works flawlessly. For anyone who travels frequently or works in a noisy environment, these are a must-have item! I had no problems with the other features, such as the remote buttons and the bypass switch on the Noise cancellation module. All functioned as described. A really nice feature is the ability to listen to music without turning the noise cancelling module on. The battery life is great and lasts 12 hours, but why waste it if it's not needed? A very nice feature, indeed! Honestly, the only minor issue I found was that the carrying case is a tad too small. It works, but could be a little bigger.
With all of that being said, here's the bottom line: are these headphones worth $299.00? If you are regularly in noisy environments, then you definitely should consider these headphones! It's a lot cheaper than hearing-aids, which is what you'll wind up with from constant exposure to loud noise. I would have given anything to have these for my father when he worked in a factory. He would have not lost most of his hearing over the years. If your just looking for good headphones to simply listen to music, then check out the non noise cancellation models.
Good job, Bose! You definitely put a LOT of research and development into this product and it shows.

worked on a plane

I was given these free as part of the Bose test and review program. I already wrote a review, but it was when I'd only had them for a day or two, so I wanted to update my review. I can't find a way to do it with an addendum, so just adding this way. The thing I wanted to add was that I flew to Florida last week and on my way home, I had a seat in the very back of the puddle jumper plane I was on for the last leg of my journey. I was sitting there trying to read, feeling annoyed by the constant loud airplane drone, when I suddenly realized I had these new headphones and wasn't this what they are made for? I've never used these kind of things before and didn't fully understand them until that moment. I put them in my ears and turned them on and the airplane noise magically disappeared. It turned out I could actually hear the flight attendant's voice pretty clearly, which surprised me, since my friend's voice had faded when i was first trying them out. But I guess that's what they're meant to do - drown out airplane noise. Anyway, I just wanted to add this, because they really did for brilliantly. I have nothing to compare them to, since I've never used these before, but I let my father try them and he is now thinking of buying some.

Incredible Bose-quality sound

To begin with, the sound quality in these headphones is truly outstanding. I also have the Bose SoundLink Mini Bluetooth Speaker, and the sound quality of the headphones is much superior. While that may not necessarily be a fair comparison, as they are for different uses, it was the first thought that came to my mind when I used them.
The noise cancellation feature also works great. I wasn’t sure at first how well it was working, but when my husband tried to get my attention when I was using the earphones, he had to yell at me and finally gave up when I wasn’t responding (because I was blissfully unaware of his entreaties).
The ear buds are comfortable, but like most earphones, these always seem as if they are on the verge of falling out of my ears, and I feel like I am constantly adjusting them to keep them in. That may simply be because of the shape of my ears, or maybe I’m not using them correctly? I’m not sure. But I know that I probably would get frustrated if I tried to use these earphones while doing anything active (running, elliptical, skiing, etc.).
The carrying case could stand to be a bit larger. I feel as if I am cramming the headphones into the case, and am worried about what damage that may do to them over the longer term. I am sure that if I folded the headphones correctly each time they would fit into the carrying case just fine, but honestly who really knows how (or has the time) to store them “correctly”? I'd love to see the carrying case just a touch larger.
Next is the functionality of the 3-button remote control (and in particular the Answer/End button). While I applaud Bose for the effort, is anyone really going to take the time to memorize the myriad of commands that would be necessary to use this feature to its fullest extent? For example, if I wanted to go to the previous track, it instructs me to “press and release Answer/End three times quickly”. Or, if I want to rewind the current track, it’s “press Answer/End three times and hold”. However, is it too difficult to simply perform those same commands on your phone? I’m not sure I understand what value this really adds to the package.
The battery life is great. It lasts as long as it says it does on the box.
Despite my critiques, this is a truly wonderful product. If you are going to spend the extra money on these earphones, do so because of the premium sound quality and noise cancellation features. These would be a great gift for the music enthusiast in your family or the discerning, oft-traveling businessman or woman who truly appreciates the finest-quality products that make their life a little less hectic on the road.

Amazing noise-cancelling and sound!

I have had the older version of these headphones (QC20i) for about 1.5 years. I bought then in June or July of 2014. I must, say these headphones work just as well today as they did the day I first used them. I am a graduate student with ADD, so studying for me can be quite difficult, without these headphones. They block so much noise and truly make anything sound amazing. I always listen to music when I study or do schoolwork, so I wear these headphones at least 3-4 days a week, and have been using them almost daily since buying them. I will be buying a new pair of them to get the newer version, but there are absolutely nothing wrong with mine. The only thing I have had to replace is the silicone tips, which I do every 5-6 months so they stay tight. I can wear these headphones for 8-9 hours without any discomfort, and they rarely ever need to charge. I recommend these to every single person I can!

Really Surprised

To be honest, I was pretty skeptical of this when I first ordered it... However, after trying them out right out of the box, I was thrilled at the quality. Great, great sound quality, pretty good noise canceling, very comfortable. However, some things that knocked this product down from 5 to 4 stars is, there is this fuzzy noise in the earbuds sometimes (Its a little weird because it happens randomly). Maybe some more noise canceling (even though it's not bad.. not that big of a deal), and the lithium battery being too big and the cord not being long enough to fit into the pocket the battery into the pocket so it kind of hangs. Maybe for future models I'd like to see these close to the buds if you are able to make it even smaller, if not then maybe close to the aux input cable.

Noise Cancelling is Awesome!
on November 26, 2015

So I just my headphones a week ago and did not get a chance to really use them until a few days ago. I wore them while doing some chores around the house and outside. They worked great! The sound is amazing which is as expected with any Bose product and I listened to a little bit of everything the other day. Talk Radio, music, a movie and even took a phone call while wearing them. No matter what I was doing the sound was great.
The noise cancelling feature works like a charm its kinda like having a full headphone set on when you turn this on. I wore them today Thanksgiving while I made homemade ice cream and my ice cream maker is old and LOUD. Now it did not cut out the noise completely, I dont think anything could but it cut out enough that I only had the volume up about 75% which is were I usually listen to it under normal conditions. I was actually surprised now I probably shouldn't be but for an earbud to work that well I was skeptical! Now one bad thing is that the noise cancelling function can run out it has to be charged up. I wore them today for around 2-3 hours straight and no problem it did not run out and I dont think I will wear them long enough to run them out but I could see them sitting around for a little while and being out of juice. That being said they are still a great headphone without this feature turned on.
My issue with these is the noise cancelling box its a small box about 1 inch by 3 inches and its placed by the headphone jack only about 2 inches away. I see this becoming a problem after a bunch of use breaking or loosening over time. In and out of pockets, catching on something, when I had it connected to my phone and was holding my phone i found it kinda awkward and I was not sure what to do with it. I think I would like it better halfway up the cord instead of on the end. I will include a picture of this.
The earbuds are very comfortable to wear and even while moving all around the kitchen cooking and cleaning they did not come out nor get uncomfortable.
Anyway this is getting long overall a great set of earbbuds exactly what you would expect from a Bose product and I would recommend them to anyone want a great set of earbuds!

I didn't have so much time to read all the reviews but I can see that everybody loves them, just like I do from the first moment that I got them as a gift from my boyfriend about a month ago.
I use them everyday, but one thing that I don't know how to manage is the noise cancellation part.
I think that it would be awesome if you design some kind of an iPhone case that we can put the noise cancellation part, stuck on back of our device and it can be safe there. Just sayin' I feel optimistic that something on this direction will happen soon :)
