Perfect for work and a long flight!

I have some extremely loud and chatty coworkers and originally was trying these out at work. I know noise cancelling aren't supposed to eliminate voices but the combination of the in-ear design and noise cancelling technology these do an outstanding job. After a few days in the office I took the on on a 5 hour flight to Hawaii and loved them. I was able to sleep with them in even on my side. Being able to leave the earbuds in and make use of "aware mode" to hear cabin announcements and speak with flat attendants is very nice. They are an expensive purchase but after the long flight and use at work are worth it.
I have always had high expectations for any one Bose's products since I first received my first set of Bose a few years ago. The sound quality is always the best, in my opinion and these in-ear headphones where the best I have used in sound quality primarily due to the superb noise cancellation.
Comfort was key and these definitely delivered in that category. The StayHear+ ear tips is a huge improvement in Bose ear tips. It makes noise cancellation better and also are more comfortable due to the seal between the ear canal and ear tip. My only issue in this category would be the cables. At the cable splitter to the individual ear buds, the cables do tend to twist around and is an issue for me when sitting in a car or on a plane (which I intend to use these the most...travel). That issue is rather minimal, but is the only notable problem I have had with-in the past week of getting this product.
Prior to these in-ear headphones, I have owned two other Bose in-ear headphones along with two speakers. As far as the headphones go, I have saw extensive improvements. From my first product being the MIE2 to the SoundSport models, the changes on colors, StayHear ear tips along with a microphone and control buttons really impressed me with the updates made through the years. Now from when I got the SoundSport in August to my first noise cancellation in-ear hear headphones today, the improvements of StayHear+ tips along with a seemingly improved microphone and control buttons, I still have yet to be let down by Bose. Even the noise cancellation feature (which holds true and blocks almost any outside noise) which I expected to work great, was seemingly a jump from a previous QuietComfort over-ear headphones that my parents own. Regardless of the different model (in-ear vs over-ear), the QC20s sounded more clear and powerful, which I loved. The different modes (passive on no battery & aware mode) amazed me as well and worked great. Speaking of the battery, the battery life is strong...and I don't need to worry about constant charging. Also if the battery dies, noise cancellation is simply not as effective, but still carried that great sound I look for in Bose products.
If anyone is looking for a great pair of nose cancellation headphones, I would highly recommend these. Overall, my rating is a 4.5 out of 5 simply due to the cables which is a small issue, but it is something that could be worked on. Props to Bose on this product.
These are very comfortable. Sound is great Highs, Lows. Build quality is great, headphones did not come out of my ears. Worked great with my iPhone 6Plus. Would like to have a bigger case to store them in.
Two things to start, Bose provided this unit to me for review/testing and I typically can not stand in-ear buds. I have perforated ear drums and I find most buds simply sound awful to me or are uncomfortable. For music on the go, I have over the ear Bluetooth headphones from Bose that are incredible but do not have any noise cancelling properties. Even though that unit is wireless, it is less expensive then these particular buds. I figured you were paying for the noise cancelling and boy, was I right.
The sound quality is typical Bose. Everything sounds good. Clear highs, detailed mids, and way more bass than I was expecting. The most surprising thing to me was the noise cancelling. They really cancel the noise. I used these on my commute on the bus and subway and was astounded at how well the noise cancelling worked. It also works w/out even being plugged into your device. Simply put them in your ears and flip the switch and it’s as if the cone of silence fell over your head. Truly impressive. It completely took away 90% off all the typical hustle and bustle you hear and once you played music, everything else disappears.
The buds themselves are extremely comfortable. What I especially like is how they absorb a good amount of sound, even with the powered noise cancelling turned off, without protruding deep into your ear. They go in far shallower than I expected and this helped reduce ear fatigue tremendously. They are secure enough that you could run/walk/move around without fear of displacing it but not so snug that if the wire catches something you wouldn’t rip your ear off. Great design.
I even let my wife try these out and she was impressed. She’s a tough critic as she has to be the most apathetic person possible towards technology. With all the gadgets and gizmos I have, she very rarely takes any interest in it. I changed the gel sizes to the provided small ones and loaded up one of her TV shows to check them out. 20 seconds in she gave me the impressed look and a thumbs up. After the show, she said either these are hers or I’m getting her another pair. If it can pass the wife test, I can assure you they’ll pass any other.
If you’re looking for earbuds with great sound quality and noise cancelling properties, you could not do any better in my mind. They’re comfortable, handle anything thrown at them, and the noise cancelling is exceptional. Really great product.
I recieved these headphones, for free, as a part of the Bose Test & Review program. I've had them about a week as of now, and in my experience they're great headphones, though they have a few issues.
Cons: 1. The battery is a bit clunky for those not used to it, and I had to devise a specific way to pull my phone and the battery out of my pocket without the audio jack coming unplugged. 2. The earpieces need to fit particularly tightly in your ears to get the best quality out of the noise cancelling effect. 3. The plastic that makes up the actually earbuds which houses the speaker feels somewhat cheap and easily breakable. 4. Sound quality is noticeably worse when the noise cancelling is turned off, something I notice with my QC25's as well. 5. When the noise cancellation feature is on, and you have no audio playing, there is a noticeable buzz, though not very bothersome as I got used to it, it initially did cause me a headache or two.
Pros: 1. Great noise cancelling for earbuds I would purchase these before any other leading brand. 2. I love the "Aware Mode" feature and found myself using it fairly often. 3. These are a great alternative for individuals who do not like overear headphones but would still like the effect of noise cancelling.
Bottom Line: These are great headphone, with great audio quality, which few other brands who make noise cancelling earbuds can even attempt to rival. Though they have a handful of issues, none are particularly bad or ever caused me to no longer enjoy the headphones. I would highly recommend these headphones to anyone looking for great earbuds.
I got these from Bose for free as part of their Test & Review program. They arrived really quickly, within days of getting the email that they were being sent.
They had three options for the covers for your ears, which was helpful, because my ears are small. I spent some time playing around with the different sizes, but settled on the small size.
Any concerns I have are more around the instructions than the product itself. I found the accompanying instructions to be a little overwhelming, with just about every language possible on one piece of paper and with very small print. I had some trouble figuring out how to fit the ear pieces in my ears and brought them to work so I could get someone with younger eyes to help me figure it out. She also noticed that the earphones had an L and R on them, which I hadn't been able to see (still can't, but I trust that they're there). But that's how I figured out they worked. She was talking to me, trying to help me figure out how to put them in and I got them in my ear and all of a sudden, I couldn't hear her anymore, even though she was standing right there and her mouth was moving. I've never experienced anything like that before. I kept them on and listened to kd Lang while I was doing paperwork.
They are super comfortable and stay in my ear, which is unusual. I have trouble keeping those things in my ears. I'll be flying to Florida tomorrow and I fully intend to take these with me. In fact, I'll be meeting my long distance partner, who snores, and I've driven myself crazy trying to find ear buds that would be comfortable enough to sleep in and actually work to block the snoring. Thank you Bose, I think I've found them! Full disclosure, I probably wouldn't have spent that kind of money on a pair of headphones, but now that I have them, if they were to die, I would probably replace them. I didn't know what I was missing...
I have never experienced in ear headphones like this nothing less than amazing clarity if that even begins to describe there clarity it's like I am sitting in the front row of a concert it's that clear they are very comfortable in my ear and they stay in my ear whether I am exercising in the gym walking the mall they have been very secure and have stayed in my ears without fail I am totally hooked on thelse qc 20 thank you so much bose I am totally satisfied I will come back for more of your products and I did not mention that I can't hear my surrounding at all they totally block out all the noise around me
I received the product free from Bose. They are a replacement pair for my original QC 20 headphones for Android which I loved because they block out the noise on my noisy Chicago commute. The thing I love about them are sound quality and now the ones have volume control. Only con is cord could be a bit longer.
