I recently received the QuietComfort 20 Acoustic Noise Cancelling headphones free from Bose to review. This product is designed very well. Before using the headphones I was very curious to see how they would fit into my ears. They come with three different sized ear tips. They should fit most ears. I was able to securely fit them into my ears with fairly little effort. After you use them a few times it becomes even easier to fit in the ear. Once I turned on the music and movies, I was amazed at the sound quality! The headphones can be used with the noise cancelling feature on or off. When off the headphones sound good and you can still hear the outside world a bit. When the noise cancelling is turned on, they completely shut out the rest of the outside world and the music comes through crisp and clear depending on the genre of music you are listening to. I decided to listen to a few different genres to give these headphones a true work out. They deliver good highs and mids through 95% of the genres and songs tested. I noticed that depending on the device you are using, you may have to play with the EQ a bit to find the sweet spot. Once this is achieved, the highs and mids shine through. I was pretty surprised to see that these headphones deliver great lows as well!!!!! This is a great improvement from Bose's very first in ear heaphones with the silicone tips. They didn't have much lows at all. The noise cancelling from this headphone is achieved using a built in rechargeable battery that lasted me a full three days, being used intensely, before needing to be charged again. This particular pair of headphones were designed for IPhone users. A great feature with these headphones are the controls built on the wire that you can use in conjunction with your apple product. The controls allow you to pause, play, rewind and, fast forward tracks and even take phone calls. I was able to hear the person on the other line clearly. They were also able to hear me clearly with no distortion and almost no background noise. I'd say with the noise cancelling feature on, these headphones can rival some of the best on ear or over the ear headphones on the market as far as the sound and power that they produce. If you are in the market for a great in ear headphone, these are the way to go!!!! My only complaint, and this is purely cosmetic, is that I wish Bose would have given these headphones a triple black color instead of adding the blue accent to them. Again this is purely cosmetic and definitely not a deal breaker. Bose has hit the mark with this pair of headphones.
This is my first go around with Noise Cancelling earbuds/headphones so I really didn't know what to expect. I received the black and blue pair of QuiteComfort 20 earbuds for free from Bose as part of their Test and Review program so I thought there was no better way to give these a try.
Currently I have the Bose Freestyle earbuds and have been using them for working out, yard work, and travel. They have been working great and the sound quality is excellent. I am not an audiophile by any means...but I do love my music. So needless to say I was a tad bit skeptical at trying new headphones and really didn't think these would replace my daily earbuds.
Starting with the packaging, it's typical Bose. Very nice. Great looking box, earbuds are packaged very nice and secure, you just know you are opening up a nice product. Once opened and unpacked I was able to get a better idea of what I was dealing with. Since this is an "active" system, you are going to have the outside battery that you switch on and off for the noise cancellation. At first I thought this would be pretty obtrusive but I was pleasantly surprised to see what it fit right in the palm of my hand and is a really thin design. There is a nice rubbery texture to it so I didn't have to worry about it sliding around on surfaces.
Once out of the package I decided to give them the try out on a trip to the gym. Today was a full body and cardio day, so a perfect "test" to see how well they would perform and how difficult and bulky they would be. The included clip works great and held the earbud wire up nicely. The battery is much smaller than the profile of my Samsung Galaxy, so after lugging that phone with me when I work out, I figured this should be easy. I was right, it really was. With the 90 degree jack the battery sat in my pocket right up against my Galaxy and I really didn't notice it was there. The wires made it a bit more tricky to get it in and out of my pocket for changing songs or moving past one that I didn't want to listed to. However, it wasn't enough that I would sideline them. If you have never used Noise Cancelling technology...prepare to be AMAZED!!! I turned the music all the way down and flipped the switch...WOW! In a busy gym the sound basically vanished. There was a small amount that you can hear...but the majority of the sound goes away. This left just me and the music to start my workout. I was so amazed I made my wife try them on. She's not amused with technology...but I can tell you one thing, we are going out to buy her a pair to work out with! She loved them. I was also able to use them with my iPod Shuffle just fine. From my understanding the difference between this and the Apple model is the ability to use them with the phones and take calls correctly from the controller on the earbud wires.
During my workout I have no issues with the earbuds. They are easy to swap out size wise and they fit perfectly in your ear. The earbuds rest in your ear but give you a nice, soft seal with the upgraded (included) tips. My workout went without a hitch, the only reason I knew my headphones were in is that I spend most of the time hitting the button on the side of the volume control to turn on and off the sound cancellation. It was amazing. The included case is very nice and fits everything you need for your earbuds without taking up much space. I am able to toss them into my small gym bag with no issues. The extra bonus that I found is that I don't have to have the earbuds plugged into my phone to take advantage of the sound cancellation feature. Just pop them in your ears and turn on the battery...sound goes away. This was great for sitting in my house and doing some work that needed to get done while not being distracted by anyone. I am actually using them for that purpose while I fill out this review! Very comfortable, easy to use, great build quality, excellent sound, and great sound. Very excited to take my plane ride with them!!

I received the Bose QuietComfort 20 headphones free from Bose as a participant in the Test and Review program. Nonetheless these headphones have exceeded my expectations in every category. I travel frequently for work so noise cancelling headphones are a must.
For starters, the noise cancellation is exceptional, especially when traveling on airplanes, and creates an immersive listening experience by blocking out undesired background noise. I also love the new ‘Aware Mode’ feature – with the press of a button you can hear the sounds around you (e.g. airline announcements, or a conversation going on around you) without having to remove your headphones. The sound quality is exceptional as well. I enjoy listening to a broad range of different musical styles and found the sound quality to be extremely well balanced across all types and genres of music.
The included ear tips make QC 20 very comfortable to wear for hours without any fatigue; Bose includes 3 different sizes (S, M, L) to accommodate different ear shapes.
The QC20's rechargeable battery (attached to the headphone cord) is very convenient – it’s nice that I don’t have to carry around around spare batteries anymore. In my tests I was able to get close to 17 hours on a single charge.
Finally! A pair of earphones that stay in my ears and have great sound, oh, and not to mention they are extremely comfortable for long hours. When working out, cleaning, working or simply relaxing I don’t have to constantly adjust them; no ear aches either.
When it comes to sound I'll be brief. I felt that it was just right. The bass has a nice deep hum and kick. Mids and highs weren't overshadowed by the bass so you get a nice and balanced sound. None of the levels outweighed the other.
The noise cancellation is very good with extremely good battery life! I went for a few runs outside during prime traffic hours (don’t worry the sidewalk and highway are separated by trees, so I don’t have to be on high alert.). Five minutes into my run I turned on noise cancellation and was amazed how the busy world around me came to an abrupt end. Noise cancellation really focuses you into whatever task you’re doing. It’s just you, your music and your task. I even enjoyed noise cancellation without the music, despite the slight hiss you hear when music isn’t playing. Noise cancellation is so enjoyable I now can’t go to work without these earphones. Sometimes at work I sit right next to a portable A/C unit so all day I hear constant blowing. I never realized I heard that blowing until I shut on noise cancellation and voila, it was gone.
Now everything isn’t perfect with these earphones. My only complaint is the battery unit. It tends to get in the way. Especially, when taking your phone in and out of your pocket. My fear is that with time the battery and cord will develop a shortage from the constant pulling and bending you take it through. Also, when I put my phone into my workout sleeve I have to take an extra few minutes to organize my phone and battery into the sleeve. This gives me the impression that Bose didn’t design these earphones for a lot of moving activity. You may want to consider an alternative if you’re really active and sweat a lot. If you don’t mind the being a little careful then you should be ok.
Overall, I highly recommend these earphones. I don’t find them to be overhyped even with the steep pricing point. You definitely get what you pay for! Only time will tell the quality of their build.
As a Bose fan since 2007.and my grandfather was a huge fan of a Bose. Bose had invented many products . So this is a Bose's another amazing invention. I brought Samsung edition day ago. Sound quality and noise cancelling is amazing. And these in ear headphones are 5x better than other branded headphones, such as beats, H.K ect. So I'm highly recommend for everyday users in my knowledge because it's comfortable for long periods . And I like it very much.
I love the Bose sound and comfort. The in ear noise reduction works very well, I have noise reduction head phones but they are very cumbersome compared to these ear buds. Bose sent me the Q C. 20 headphones to demo and I couldn't believe how comfortable they are. I excepted the sound to be great, Bose sound always is and these lived up to the name. I especially like the convenient sound controls on the wire and the fact that they still deliver sound even if the battery goes dead. I have used them several times while hiking and they stay in place and feel good. I plug them into my Galaxy phone and listen to Pandora mostly.
I received the Bose QC20 for review from Bose. Immediately I noticed that the packing was beautiful when opened – great presentation for a gift. I plugged them into my Motorola Android phone and listened to some music with my kids screaming and chasing each other in the background and the TV on loudly… and heard NOTHING! It was a blissful few minutes ☺ The earbuds are very comfortable. They stay put and are more comfortable than over-the-ear phones. There is a great carry-case that make it very easy to travel with. The only negative I have as of yet is with phone calls. I am able to hear loudly and clearly through the headphones and the person I am talking to states I come through loud and clear, too– but so does all the ambient noise. In fact, my daughter from 15 yards away, talking quietly to herself, was audible and distracting. Impressive? Probably. Desired effect? Probably not. I cannot attest to heartiness of wiring or battery life as I have not ran the battery dead yet, nor have I abused them– I like them too much and want to keep them around as long as possible!
