Best EVER!

These are absolutely THE BEST headphones I have ever owned. I am a consultant and travel 100K miles per year. I have enough stuff to carry on the plane with me and the last thing I wanted to carry around some bulky noise canceling headphones. These fit the bill perfectly.
Even without the battery on, the sound is still phenomenal, but once you turn them on...all I can say is WOW! It drowns out just about anything and everything. The sound is clear, crisp, and the perfect balance of bass.
If you want noise cancelling headphones without the bulk, these are the perfect choice!
Only thing I would recommend is to make the cord about 6" longer. Sometimes the current length is just too short for my needs, but its not a big issue

I've had these now for about 1 year. everything fine, until today, excellent sound and noise cancelling quality. I suddenly started to get extremely high pitched sounds coming from the right side. I've only used these about 10 times so I kind of feel cheated that i paid so much money and now they're probably good for the dump. I'm usually a little rough on my stuff but in this case I was extra gentle (considering the price) and this still appened

Hello Doug,

Thank you for the review. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the sound quality and noise-canceling of the QC20, but we are sorry to hear about the high-pitched sound coming from the right ear. One thing that can cause that is dust or debris in the mesh on the back of the earbud causing feedback. Behind that mesh is the microphone the headphones use to measure the ambient noise for the noise-canceling. Blowing that out with compressed air may help.

If not, the QC20 headphones do have a one-year warranty and we would like to help you with those. We have reached out via email to help you with this. We’re also available by phone Monday through Friday 8:30am to 9pm EST and Saturday 9am to 7pm EST at 800-380-4831.

Love the noise cancellation - needs a tweak

Love my QC20! Use it in the gym, on the plane, at the office, and around the around yard when working. Two concerns: On my second pair because the microphone stops working (need to call support again) and the control box is cumbersome with the wires when the phone is in my pocket while working out in the gym. Any way to design an around the neck version?

Best for NC, needs improvement for feedbacks

I love enjoying through the low cost flights with my QC20 with almost isolated mood once I turn it on. Its practical to carry than over the ear models and providing almost similar performance in terms of noise cancellation. However I would like to see a small OLED (least power consuming display) to provide feedbacks regarding what song is playing, caller id etc so that you wouldn't need to take your iPhone or other device to look for this information. It's been on the market with the exact same product for years, how about an needed upgrade afterall, Sirs?

great noise cancelling
on August 26, 2015

I just got a pair of Bose QC20 and tested them right away on a 10 hour flight. The noise cancelling is quite good. Most engine noise is cancelled and instead you hear very quiet white noise. However, (loud) talking and non-monotonous noise is not cancelled, but can then be heard clearer, since the otherwise drowning plane noise is cancelled out.
However, I have two negative experiences:
1) I wanted to charge the headphones during the flight, but when plugging the USB charger into the USB port on the plane, there was this pretty loud humming sound. That was no good. Luckily the headphones were charged enough to last for two movies.
2) During the flight I noticed, that pressing the volume buttons had no effect on the level of loudness. Once landed, I also tried turning the volume up and down while having the headphones plugged into my Android smartphone (Google LG Nexus 4) as well as my laptop (Lenovo thinkpad). Still, there was no change in volume. Though, I was a bit intrigued when purchasing the headphones, as it says 'for Samsung Galaxy' on the box. When asking the shop clerk, he said, it means all Android devices. Chances are, that the Nexus is "too old"...?
I wonder, if this is normal, or if the pair of headphones i grabbed are defective...
Anyways, compared to my previous pair of noise cancelling headphones from Panasonic, the Bose QC20 are way better. Actually, there is no point in trying to compare the two as they are from two different worlds.
