The sound quality is great. However, after one year of usage the wires are breaking and black cover came off the black dongle.

I bought few months ago and work perfect, noise cancelling while travelling is fantastic but since a week even there is no sign of physical damage, the left side makes horrible noise....

Awesome headphone, but cable is breaking up.

I've bought this over 2 years ago and I absolutely love it. However, the cable insulation is breaking up in many different places even thou I don't put any considerable strain on it. I began after a trip to Texas during summer. While the product was never exposed directly to sunlight/water or other things like that, I wonder if the changes in temperature from going from AC to the outdoors and vice-versa would have caused the cracks.

Hello Fabio,

Thank you for the review. We appreciate the feedback and we are glad to hear that you are loving the headphones. However, we agree that you should not be having that issue with the cable insulation. There are many factors that can affect how long the product lasts including how they're used, stored, and the environment that they're in. We expect you to get years of use from your product and we stand behind them.

We have sent an email to learn more about what is going on with your QC20 headphones, but we are also available at 800-380-4831 if you wanted to speak by phone instead. We are here to help Monday through Friday 9am to 9pm and Saturday 9am to 7pm EST.

My favorite headphones, $$$$

My all-time favorite headphones. I like an earbud and find these really comfortable. I can mow the lawn, be on a plane, listen to a different movie, etc. all without hearing a thing. I'm just hoping that they prove to pay for themselves eventually when I'm 75 and hopefully still hearing because I bought these instead of turning up the volume like before with my other headphones. I just wish they were in a price range that I could give as a more feasible gift or be able to more easily afford a new pair. But I also understand that Bose sound and Bose price go together. And the sound on these is true to the Bose name. It's fantastic quality sound, clear base, no muffling, great volume. I encourage you to try these great, albeit expensive, headphones.

Excellent for business / office usage

I mainly use these earbuds at work/office (open landscape) and they filter out most of the background noises quite effectively. It lack the ability to change volume up and down, but I jack into an Astro MixAmp (with volume control) so no problem for me there, but might be a problem for some?
There is also a weak buzzing sound while charging, this might be my laptop with unclean power on the USB buss. Have not checked with other devices.
A feature that I would like to have is a battery indicator, or at least be able to check battery status while connected via USB to a computer.
The sound quality is far from good for music, so I use another product for this.
The noise canceling effect is very good and is well worth the cost of this product.

Best noise cancellation - better than QC25 IMO

There is no question Bose is the leader in noise cancellation technology. Once I knew that, the question was either the QC20s or QC25s. I debated about that for three months.
The QC25 has a great in finish and looks awesome but the versatility of the QC20s is much better; the noise cancellation, the relative small footprint and the respectable sound quality has made the QC20i the winner IMO.
Noise cancellation is better. I took my QC20i and tested against 2 QC25's in 2 different retailers. The QC20's was able to mute voices around and background noises noticeably better.
I guess sound is better in QC25s given the larger driver (I assume this since i own the bose soundlink II around ear). But for travelling and cancelling noise purposes the QC20 is the pick out of the two. No doubt.

I traded up to these from QC2 headphones and I was skeptical about the change. I was assured that I could bring them back for my headphones again. That was two years ago. It takes some time getting use the the battery/electronic unit. I love the size and ease of having them in my bag full time. The battery last a long time. The sound is great and when your device has an equalizer, you can craft a custom sound that lets you hear more detail from the sound and the noise canceling works very well. Now I am waiting for a Hi Res head set Bose. Bring it on!
