Exactly what I wanted!

This camera has exactly what I wanted - easy to use, good quality pictures and portability. Having had cameras that were almost impossible to use I am very happy with this purchase.
Pros: good battery life, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

Camera design state of the art.

The new SD1200 IS is a cut above other models of camera in one way I should mention. The battery and battery chamber are designed for ease of use in every day charging and recharging of the battery. There is even a small keeper inside the battery chamber to allow one to remove or insert the digital media with out disturbing the battery. In addition, the camera instructions and software allow you to implement and use the features almost immediatlely, making the camera useful and easy to use.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable

Quirky

I own several Canon digital cameras, and love them all. However, this camera has a quirky and annoying habit of constantly trying to refocus when the camera is in Auto mode, even when I am not trying to take a photo. I returned the first camera I received thinking that it was a defect since none of my other cameras does this. My replacement camera does the same thing. It essentially renders the Auto mode useless, unless you want to wear your battery down in record time without taking any photos.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable
Cons: Poor Low-Light Performance, Flimsy Construction, constant refocus in auto mode
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good Camera

I had gotten this camera due to my old canon camera winding up in a deep stream in upstate Ny while i was camping , I had a Canon SD 750(I think) I loved that camera so since then i wanted better than the last so i got this camera . Ill have to say i do really like this camera but i liked the color accent feature on the SD 750 which i wish they still had on here , but what i lost in bells and whistles i had gained in detail in my pictures , the detail is amazing compared to a 7 megapxel camera . the interface is about the same and took like 3 mins to figure out . great product for the price

Very disappointed with this camera, especially after the Canon PowerShot SD110 and SD1000 I owned before performed so well. Would not recommend.
Pros: Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable
Cons: Missing features/settings, Poor image quality, Flimsy Construction, weird flash setting, icontrast ruins pictures, deceptive lcd screen

My daughter had a older version of this camera, which I bought her so for my birthday she bought me one. Just love it. The picture quality is great !!!!

Simple Camera, Great Deal

I bought this camera several months ago, and have been very satisfied with it. It does an amazing job of taking great pictures in low lighting which is one of the flaws I have noticed with some of my friends who have older canon cameras. In addition the fact that the batteries are interchangeable has helped a lot since I recently used the camera while on a 11 day backpacking trip where I managed to kill the battery, as well as several SD cards from all the sights.
The one con I have about this camera is that I still have not figured out all of the advanced controls(although I don't really need to use them ever since the camera seems to do it all automatically).

Totally Awesome Purchase

I absolutely love this camera! It is small enough to fit into my purse so that i carry it with me at all times. That way, when I am with family and friends I have it available to take snapshots. My son recently borrowed it to take on his trip to Chicago. The pictures he took with it turned out amazing.
