I owned powershot 1000IS before and this is way better than that previous model i used. It takes great photos and looks good. The only thing annoying is the automatic refocus on slightest movement in auto mode, but than I use it in program mode.

I am 85 years old and have owned many cameras over my life time. This camera is the best suited to my lifestyle ever. Seated on my easy chair I can take great snaps of my cat. Outdoors it takes wonderful pictures of landscapes, the grandkids in action, and crystal-clear pics at the beach. It is light and easy to carry in a shirt pocket. I take mine with me wherever I go.The "Automatic" mode works magic and even better results can be had by learning how to use the other modes and features. For an old guy this takes a little effort, but it is worth it. This is a camera for all ages.
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use
I would recommend this to a friend!

Everything I wanted it to be

I am satisfied with this camera in all regards. Rather than enumerate all the good stuff again, I would point out two possible negatives: 1) It's small, and we frequently can't find it. I mean, I didn't want big, so this isn't really a complaint, but it is easily misplaced or left in a pocket, so be careful. 2) It's easy to get the lens dirty. We were having some awful image quality until I noticed big gloppy finger smears on the lens. As I said, it's exactly what I wanted.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable
I would recommend this to a friend!

Nice camera. This is my first digital camera. the only problem I have is the instruction book does not have enough information. There is a larger book on this web site that I would like to get. The one that came with the camera doesn't even tell you what the AV cable is used for or what some of the flashing icons on the screen are for.
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, excellent image quality, durable, Lightweight/Portable
Cons: Complicated controls/menu

I have several types of still and video cameras, and I am involved in video production on a professional level. I got this camera for my teenager, and I'm pretty amazed at the quality of the both the stills, and especially the video that comes out of it. I recently integrated some video shot on it along with some HD video from a high end consumer camcorder, and most non-pro's never even noticed the difference. FOr such a tiny lens, it delivers a nice shot. The super small size makes it the camera I grab when it's not practical to use a larger camera. The best camera is the one you have with you- this little guy makes that play very often.
Pros: Good Low-Light Performance, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use

I purchased this Jan of 2010 and so far love it. It was smaller than my last camera but easy to use. I am impressed with the automatic features and the photos are extremely clear and captures the subject matter very professional. I am having fun taking photos. The only drawback is having to click half way down before snapping the photo or it will not do auto focusing. The videos are extremely great. I am using this instead of my video camera from now on. Also, the software for downloading in the computer is really easy and great to use.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

I am really enjoying this camera. I am still on the first charge of the battery. It has lasted a long time nearly 2 months now. The basic functions are very easy to use. I will need more time to figure out all the other ways I can use it, but for a "hurry, quick, get the camera" shot, it is fantastic. It is lightweight, and small enough to carry in my purse. I would definitely recommend it!
Pros: good battery life, excellent image quality, durable, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use
