Easy to get photos off camera
on December 11, 2009
Posted by: Oregon Photo
I saw a post about having troubles getting photos off the camera and onto their computer. This is quite confusing to me because it is so simple. You connect a USB cable between the camera and your computer, push the action button to "view" and turn the camera on. Your camera now shows up as just another hard drive on your computer where you can copy your photos anywhere you want to. You cannot move or delete the photos from the camera while connected. To delete photos you have to use the camera's menu or remove the SD card and use a separate SD reader to do that. Hardly an inconvenience. The built in view finder really helps on very sunny outdoor pictures.
Pros: good battery life, durable, Bright LCD, easy to use

I love this thing!

I received this camera as a gift for Christmas. I was using a *huge* one that finally died on me, and my husband (being a tech geek), picked this up for me. Opening the box, I adored the color (blue), and was happy with how small it was (again, this could be because I had a HUGE camera before). I began playing with it almost immediately and was thrilled with the performance. I love how clear the LCD is, the pictures are crystal clear, and it's extremely user friendly. I asked my husband why he picked this one and he said "It's Canon, and it's a great camera for the money." (He uses one at work.) I couldn't be happier. The video shooting is easy - they save as .avi so you can open them in anything - and clear. I can't say enough good things about it!
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use, color is gorgeous

Enjoy using this camera. Took it out of the box, and the controls were immediately intuitive to use. The picture quality is excellent. I use this camera to augment my Canon DSLR when I need to travel light, or take quick shots of candid situations.
Highly recommend this product to others looking for a great little camera.
Pros: Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

I replaced my older Canon SD400 which was 3.5 yrs old & just stopped working. This camera is far superior to the SD400 which I loved. Controls are the same or similar & are not hard to comprehend even if you have no camera knowledge...read the manual or visit on line instruction for better understanding of the camera functions. Excellant Camera
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable

Canon SD 1200 Power Shot

The overall character of design is exactly what I was looking for when purchased. The size vs. the many qualities and advantages was a perfect fit. I liked the ease for having to get to know how to use my new camera. Just knowing a small ammount about digital photography before the purchase it took me very little time to get acquainted with this product. It has many a advantages to owning one, especially when traveling.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable

Grat camera

Best digital camera that I have ever owned. Took vacation this past week, took over 300 pictures on the same battery using flash and no flash in the dark and also daylight pictures. With the programming function I was able to get excellent pictures in the dark using no flash of buildings and subjects with very low light conditions. Was amazed that the battery lasted that long and still registered that there was over 75% of the battery life left. I have not had a camera with that long life battery before.
Pros: easy to use, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, fast to turn on ready to use
Cons: Complicated controls/menu

Good Compact Camera
on November 9, 2009

Bought this to replace my old Canon. Did quite a bit of research and read the many reviews but ultimately chose the 1200IS for its price, simplicity and compact size. My only apprehension was that I would be all thumbs; but I got used to the size and buttons very quickly. Although the instruction manual provided is very basic; the CD provided gives a more comprehensive guide with the advanced features. For a compact camera; am very happy with the quality of the pictures and the zoom feature adequate. The only con I found was the tiny cover on the camera to insert the cable into the camera terminal was very flimsy.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life
Cons: Flimsy Construction
