Great at Price Point

I replaced a popular 8 megpix camera due to loss and was pleased to find a 10 meg at a similar cost. I use my camera a lot for public events where I get stills and movies frequently. Often I have to let a passerby take the shot and worry about them disturbing the presets. The smooth case and level buttons virtually eliminate that concern. I like the fairly quick recovery time between flash shots, much better than other brands I tried. Battery life is good. I didn't know how much movie room I had on my 2 gig memory card at a large concert, so I decided to just hold the shutter down to see how many stills I could get and select the best images from. I managed 3 movies and continuous stills for nearly 2 hours of multiple shots. I was really amazed! I like the form of the metal case, but it was dropped on a corner recently and the cover is slightly distorted now, but it appears to be only cosmetic. It would be nice if these small cameras had a rubber cornered add on case to help with spills. The only other con is that under most conditions where there are extra bright objects the highlights tend to burn out. But this is not a serious condition for casual use and a camera in this price range. The size allows me to slip it in and out while in complicated costumes and fits in a smaller pocket easily. All in all, I got a lot of features and performance that I hadn't counted on!
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, flush control buttons
Cons: highlights could be better, case structure improved

Always had Olympus cameras but just switched to the Cannon based on quite a lot of research and product reviews. Very picky about image quality as I use many photos in my work and this camera has exceeded all my expectations. Image quality is excellent. Macro also excellent. Great battery life and the Camera easy to use. Would definitely recommend it,
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable

Overexposed

This camera has some issues with overexposure, at least 75% of pictures I take in Auto mode come out overexposed. Lighting does not matter - sunny, cloudy, fluorescent, etc. I hope this will be addressed with a firmware upgrade because I am very disappointed with the picture quality and I end up having to edit most of the photos I take with this camera.
Pros: Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use

Take this camera anywhere, everywhere

Instead of toting my beloved old-fashioned SLR in my backpack on those long outings, I can now pack the SD1200 IS Digital ELPH in a pocket and take images on the go. The Digital ELPH is my first digital camera, and I love it. I'm finding the camera simple to use, with good battery life, and simple controls. Also, it's great to make the family suffer through replays of the day's outing on the TV when we return home. While I don't feel quite the "photographer" as I do with my larger, better lens quality SLR, I find myself taking more images, and I think that the digital ELPH will help to make me a better and more adventurous amateur photographer.
Pros: Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Poor Low-Light Performance

I absolutely love this camera. It has many great features that any picture-taker will love. Turn-on and shutter speed are super quick for those moments you weren't prepared for. Auto settings work extremely well, or if you have some time and wish to create your own settings according to the occasion, it's an easy flip of a button. I never leave home without this camera. Love everything about it. Great battery life and picture quality is phenomenal. I use an 8 GB SD card and have had no space issues whether I am takng videos or pictures. Highly reommended. I have had nothing but complaints with every other digital camera I've owned. Finally think I found the best!

The camera SD1200 is great. Easy to use. All functions easy to scroll through. The picture quality is great. It has Face recognition and steady to produce a Clear sharp picture every time. I really love the zoom features, up close or really really far away you'll never miss a shot. I highly rate this camera and expect it too be around with me for a long time. Only con to the product cant see the screen when your in sunlight, but you still have the eye focus for those occasions.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life
Cons: Dim LCD
