Great Buy!

I've been looking for a great quality camera for a great price and I definitely found it! I'm not a camera buff - just like lasting memories of favorite things. I hate cameras with so many buttons and gizmos and I could never figure out how to use them! This camera is compact, adorable, and takes fabulously clear pictures. Great pics indoors, outdoors, with or without much lighting...I am so please with my purchase...and it was delivered to my door within a week! Love it!
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good but could be better

My biggest complaint with this camera is that photos taken in low light are always grainy. I can accept that the small flash may not light my subject correctly but I can correct that later in the software if the photo quality is good. This camera however, takes horrible photos in low light. They are grainy and can not be fixed with any software.
I would have liked an easier way to manage the on/off for the flash, I always seem to be looking through the menus for it and have missed shots due to this.
Pros: good battery life, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use
Cons: Missing features/settings, Poor Low-Light Performance, Complicated controls/menu
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The best point and shoot camera on the market. 12 MP and HDMI output. I would buy this for anyone who want a great small camera that fits in the pocket and takes great pictures.

Little Camera, Great Photos!

I'll start by saying that I own two other Canon digital cameras, the SD 450 and SD 750.
This camera is definitely worth your money! I'll begin by talking about the cons. I'm definitely not a big fan of the wrist strap; I wish Canon still gave the ability to tighten the strap on your wrist because I can definitely see kids and adults dropping the camera by accident, especially since the camera is so thin. Another con is the playback; when you press the down button to delete the photo, you still have to press the right button to erase. It would save a lot more time if it was in the erase mode when you press down but it does give you the option to think twice before. The shift stick between Auto, Video, and Self-adjust is quite tight so people with big fingers might find it difficult to move. I will caution people about the battery and memory card flap. Definitely watch because it is a bit flimsy, but not something that should be a big issue if you use delicately.
A pro is that the camera is very slim and it can easily fit into any pocket, though I won't suggest the back in case you forget and sit. :) The battery life is great and my continuous photo taking at the zoo lasted all day, which was a good 8 hours and a few more the next day. The viewfinder isn't perfect, but something you can use to conserve the battery. The HDMI worked nicely and was a great way to show my family how the day was. The video is crisp and the large megapixel was lovely.
Once again, Canon rocks my world and will rock yours too!
Pros: Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life

Really great little gadget for just about everyone

This is a great camera and extremely portable with many options for the casual photographer. The video is excellent and I read a review that it was too noisy, but if you just play with the color adjustments and turn the red down a little it's fine. You have to understand how a camera works if you want the best quality. Go out and get one it will be totally worth it.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable
Cons: noisey in low light conditions

Love The Canon SD780 IS

Just recently purchased this camera. Light weight, easy to use and has a "viewfinder" plus the LCD. In bright light conditions, the viewfinder is a must have. The only feature I was slightly disappointed in was the 3X zoom. Was hoping for at least a 5X zoom. Video are recorded in HD. Battery charged in 90 minutes. Camera accepts SDHC (high capacity) memory cards. I have a SDHC reader, so no lengthy downloads to the PC. I have instant access to my photos.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable, viewfinder plus lcd
Cons: only a 3x zoom

Hooray! Tiny camera with a viewfinder
on June 28, 2010

I bought this camera because I wanted a pocket-sized digital camera with a real viewfinder. This is a vanishing species, but if you're over 40 (I'm 66) and have normal age-related presbyopia (difficulty with close focus) using a screen on the back of the camera to frame pictures becomes increasingly uncomfortable. The viewfinder isn't 100% accurate, but it's much better than nothing. The camera is nicely made, very easy to carry around, and takes decent pictures. Are they up to the quality of an SLR? Well, no. If you want pictures of that quality, and all the extra features, you're going to have to lug around a bigger camera, as I do often. But if you want a tiny camera that performs nicely, this is an excellent one.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use, optical viewfinder
