I can't believe a camera of this magnitude would be this easy to use!
I am of the" point and shoot" generation and have been hesitant to upgrade.
After doing my homework, I'd have to say I have made the best choice.
I can't believe what this little camera can do, geez it even shoots movies!

Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable

Great Little camera. Takes excellent shots.
PROS:
Small and compact
optical image stabilization.
HD Video.
Price.
Farly good auto mode.

CONS:
Photos and videos in the dark are grainy.
no zoom in video mode
trouble focusing on small/fine objects when zoomed in.
no RAW mode.
If camera goes to sleep, settings reset(eg goes from macro to normal mode). annoying when taking a lot of photos of small items.
After 2 weeks of use it already scratched up and has a ding from being carried in a pocket.
Does not come with a case.

OVERALL
Great budget camera. Very Pleased. Pictures rarely com out blurry and are crystal clear if you don't zoom in to much. Most of the CONS listed above are as the result of the lens being so small and the lens cant be much bigger without increasing size. However The camera should have RAW Mode and the ability to use optical zoom during videos.

The Best Camera Ever...

This camera is absolutely amazing, it does almost everything. The pictures during the day, at night, inside are crystal clear! The camera is very durable and is packed full of features. I was going to get an SLR camera but i wanted a very little camera and this is the best one! The 12.1 megapixels have an extreme high resolution for the pictures. I love this camera!

Great Little Camera

As the wife of a professional photographer, I "never touched" a camera. Watching a friend using a pocket sized digital camera intruiged me, however. I researched the net, looking for a digital camera that was SIMPLE TO USE. This is where I read about the PowerShot, specifically the SD1200 IS. Santa delivered, and I have been having a ball with this camera ever since. The software was easy to install, the camera is easy to use, and even my husband agrees that the pics are great quality. I wanted a quality camera that would easily fit into pocket or purse, that didn't cost an arm and a leg. I didn't want such an expensive camera that I would be afraid to use it for fear of something happening to it. The PowerShot SD1200 IS fits the bill. I would recommend this to anyone!

Great little camera

I Really like this little camera. It is very compact, takes excellent pictures, and has an optical viewfinder which I find necessary for using in bright direct sunlight here in Florida. It is fairly easy to use after spending just a few minutes with the instruction manual.
I just wish it would charge the battery through the USB cable as does every other small electronic device I use.
Come on Canon, how difficult is that to achieve.
But all in all very good value in a small package.

Just for Point and Shoot

I've purchased this camera as a birthday gift for a friend. I've also recommended to several of my friends, whom also purchased it as well. However, after testing it, I've realized that its quite irritating to switch to different settings. If you want to use other settings such as "night shots, snow, etc" you'd have to click on "DISP" in order to get to those settings.
As a point and shot, this camera is perfect. The quality of the picture comes out nicely, however, there are more "blurry" pictures than most (from my experience) or the colors come out to be darker than usual. I've tried changing the SFO, but there are times when I can't manage to get the colors right. Sadly, Id have to resort to Photoshop to change the color contrast.
Compared to most cameras that I've used, I love the HD video! Don't compare HD point and shoot cameras with a n actual HD Camcorder, because you would be disappointed. For a point and shoot, the HD video has great quality and sound. If you're recording a live concert... You will not be disappointed.

Cons: Complicated controls/menu

This camera was perfect for me! It was like love at first site! If it was up to me this would be the camera of the year! But sadly I left it in my pocket yesterday and it had gotten washed.... But no worries I love your company and im getting another! :D
