Sad over this choice

I'm a moderately experienced digital photographer, and carefully studied user reviews on this camera. After much consideration and evaluation, I purchased it. From day one I was disappointed with the results. I don't know if my camera was defective or not, but there is too much light in daylight pictures that washes out color, and the high megapixel count hasn't translated into good distance shots. I have used the camera in indoor and outdoor settings, and have yet to have a satisfactory group of pictures from the camera. I am very, very unhappy with my experience with my Canon. My 3.2 megapixel camera takes better, sharper pictures, and I have returned to using it.

It's great, it's very easy to use. It takes great pictures. It also fits perfectly in my pocket, but if i go down stairs or up too fast it falls out of my pocket and scratches easily. It broke too quickly, one day it just randomly decided not to turn on and the battery was fine, must be from dropping it so much, so now i have to get it replaced. So happy i have a warranty. Also the battery life was decent but if you take video it dies quicker. Otherwise it's a great camera, i love the macro feature and the color features. I'm pretty satisfied with it.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Short battery life, Flimsy Construction, buttons are hard to press

I am extremely frustrated and unhappy with the video format this camera uses. The prior camera i had was a PS SD600 and it formatted videos for windows products (.avi for windows media player) which my pc uses just fine. This new camera only formats videos in .mov (Quick Time). When i play them on my computer QT boggs my pc down and doesnt play the video smoothly. very jerky. My pc is a 2.66Ghz processor and i have 2Gb of ram so dont say i own a slow piece of you know what pc. Canon needs to make an option on the camera so the user can select what type of video format the consumer wants to use. 12 Mega pixel camera shoots great pics. but it is slow to take the pic usually the "event" is over by the time the camera decides to snap the pic.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, good battery life
Cons: movies are only in quick time format, movie format cannot be changed to .avi, slow to snap a picture

Disapppointed

I loved carrying and using this little camera on my once in a lifetime trip--until I got back and viewed the pictures. I used auto focus and the quality is so poor that I can't even make out any facial features of subjects. I always had clear images with my older digital. Is this the way it's supposed to be with a tiny camera? What's the point then of taking pictures?
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life

i forgot to add that I was expecting a better HD video experience the setting says standard camera which makes me think it's low quality and I don't know if 720p 30fps can be considered HD sure the frame size is 1280x720 but I consider more 1080p and 60fps to HD quality would be cool to shoot over 29mins of video too
