Great for Mdisk storage.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used mostly for long term storage on Mdisk and/or folks that still collect DVD's and don't have a fast internet connection. Disk players are almost obsolete on newer computers.
Pros: Style/Design, Features/Settings
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Product for the Price

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this product with my new laptop when I found out that there was no optical drive in it. Since it is a new computer for me, I knew that I would need it to load software, etc.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my 5th purchase of an LG product in the last 10 years. What can i say it`s an LG the best in the field. My first was 50" LG TV in 2011, it`s going strong and has never gave me a problem. Since then i always try to buy LG products, if the price is right. I highly recommend LG products as they seem to be a better build then most products
Pros: Features/Settings, Performance, Quality
I would recommend this to a friend!

Only worked once
on January 15, 2020
Posted by: RonInCA
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this a month, maybe a month and 1/2 ago. I burned a couple of DVD Linux images for work. Today, I needed to repeat this process. No Go. It gets anywhere from 10 to 40% complete then issues the error: "This disc image didn't burn successfully because an error occurred. The device failed to accept the command within the timeout period. This may be caused by the device entering an inconsistent state, or the timeout value for the command needs to be increased. (Error code:0xC0AA020D)" It appears I can read things just fine... But, the drive will no longer burn anything. Looking on-line this seems to be very common. The burn capabilities of this drive are just junk.
Pros: Style/Design
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Worked for short period now useless

This is my 2nd unit and both recorded 4 or 5 bluray discs and now neither records. I've tried every brand of blank media I could find, five different burning programs, three different computers and even tried updating firmware. Everytime I try burning a bluray I get an error. The only reason I bought 2nd unit is the limited options from better known manufacturers. I wouldn't suggest this if your looking for reliability or a quality made player/burner especially since its higher price range. My last LG tv was about same poor quality.

Great features, slim and portable fun

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this device for my laptop. Even though the bundled disc is filled with great software, trying to play a bluray disc in my lap and other computers I own, was almost imposible, DVDs where fine. I had to download a small app from the web to make it work and voila! I can view blurays anywhere.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had good results burning DVDs with my LG. The main problem I have had is that it will not burn Blu-Ray disc from Adobe Encore. You have to download IMG burn to make it work. It is a free download but it is hard to do because of all the ads on the page. It would be nice if LG and Adobe could work together to resolve this issue. You have to export an ISO file and then import that into IMG to burn your Blu-ray.
