I love this gps, when it works. Unfortunately it hardly ever works. It seems to lock up most when I'm out of town. It can stay locked up for a week. There is no customer service or support. It is useless. I have a free update which I can't use because it does't work. Why wouldn't they have a hard reset button.
I have only owned Garmin brand gps systems. I am look for a new gps and I will look at other products first.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Always locks up.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

No instructions for a 255wt. Papers included said 205w. No instructions as to all the options or how to get free lifetime traffic updates. If you know how I can get an instruction booklet I would like to know where.
What's great about it: It did what we needed it to do
What's not so great: no real complaints - would just like to know more about it

2nd one I've had, 1st one was stolen. I love it, I need to figure ot how to increase the volume though. Easy to use and install.

I bought this for my parents who are first time GPS users and the instructions that came with it were very poor. You almost have to know the exact address of where you are going which isn't useful if you have no idea what the address is. I couldn't even figure the thing out to try to explain it to them. The touch buttons on the unit didn't respond well and you had to press REALLY hard sometimes to get it to respond to the command. It went back into the box and was returned to the store!
What's great about it: Not much
What's not so great: Not user friendly
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I'm very satisfied. It was super easy to set up and start to use. It seems to take us on roads other than the highways which make it seem like the longer way to go. I wish there was a soft bag to put it in when not in use so the occurrence of scratching the screen or chipping the frame is less likely. Great value for the functions and it looks great.

Hidden cost for traffic

Be aware that the lifetime traffic is included but what they don’t mention is that you need a traffic receiver costing 100.00 dollars plus professional installation required! What a joke!
I took it back and got the Magellan 1445T and the traffic function worked right out of the box with no extra fees.
What's great about it: Dident own long enough to find out
What's not so great: Traffic function needs extra receiver installed at additional cost
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is my first GPS and I am very statified with it's operation. At first, and due to my lack of patience, I found it difficult to operate. But once I took the time to learn all its options, it was very easy to set up (and I am still learning new things it is capable of). It appears to be a very popular unit to many, and that indicates to me that I made a good choice. I would definitely recommend this to others.
What's great about it: Ease of use and easy to read.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Third Garmin GPS. They all work great and I highly recommend.
