This GPS unit works as well as most, I suppose, and I have nothing against this model other than a dim screen. My main complaint is with GPS directions in general, which is a software issue I suppose. After a couple of months use this unit generally gave decent directions. It struggles most when you need it most, such as specific addresses on crowded highways. If you miss by one service road or driveway, you have to make another circuit. I still haven't figured out how the traffic feature is of much help. It warns of backed up traffic, but that is usually pretty obvious by the time the warning comes. I'd say for what you get this product is overpriced but so far it has been reliable.
What's great about it: Not much is great; it's an okay product
What's not so great: Screen too dim in bright light.

The maps that are included on this machine are much more outdated than you are led to believe. I just moved to a new town, so I finally decided that I would give up on my paper map books that have never led me astray for a gps. Wrong answer. The first time I tried to take my dogs to a new boarding facility, the gps said it did not exist when I entered the street address. The facility was built almost 5 years ago. I thought maybe this was a fluke, but I have found 3 different places like that in the first month of use. The lag time for recalculation of the route due to a detour is also extremely slow--so much so that you miss the recalculated suggested turn because it doesn't announce it until you drive past it. Definately not worth the $250 I paid for it.
What's great about it: Nice touch screen, clear voice
What's not so great: Old, inaccurate maps & terrible lag time

I have used Garmin in the past and haven't been disappointed..until I bought this one for myself. I checked reviews on this product, which were great, so I chose this one. First time I used it I took an 8 hr trip of which took me through St. Louis, Mo. As you come into St. Louis it is 6 lanes across, with 2 major exits on the rt side. It is a pretty dangerous area. I was quite sure that I was suppose to take a certain exit but the GPS told me that it was a different exit a mile up the road. Then as I passed the exit it told me to take it on the rt. Problem was I had just passed it. It did re-route me but added about 25 min to my trip, and a few more highways. Then I needed to go to a O'Reilleys to get my windshield wiper fixed, it "said" it was w/in 1 mile, so we picked it. It took up about 7 miles out of our way and NOT to a O'Reilleys it took us to some office building. On our return home we were looking for a specific big chain restraunt to go to, checked the GPS and it said there wasn't one. As we look up, there was a highway sign showing upcoming restraunts, it was on there and was only about 1-1/2 miles away. I would return this product in a heartbeat but I threw the box away because I was so sure I would love it. So to sum it up this product is worthless, and I may just buy a new one..a TomTom next time of which I was very much against when I started the process of looking for a GPS.
What's great about it: It was correct most of the time.
What's not so great: The times it wasn't correct, cost me a lot of time on a long trip.

I got this yesterday. Today I wanted to test it out after setting it up (which was relatively easy) so I set it up to take me to my husbands work. Got in the van & it couldn't even calculate where I needed to go. So I went anyway thought maybe It would catch up...couldn't pass 52% kept restarting it and it still wouldn't work. Then it couldn't get me home. Thought I would test out the searching thing. Tried to find Best buy...I already knew where it was but still wanted to see if it was on my updated map that I just did lastnight...NOPE Best buy has been there for 3 years and it's not on the so called updated map...back to the store it went. Going to get a TomTom on sale tomorrow....Very disappointed :-(
What's great about it: nothing from what I could tell
What's not so great: Not updated maps at least older than 3 years
