I am a HUGE fan of Halo series and therefore I also have great expectations from it. Compare to games (shooters mainly) that come out these days, Halo ODST was a pretty good game; however, IT DIDNOT LIVE UP TO THE EXPECTATIONS.
PROS:
-INTERESTING MODE ON CAMPAIGN: Campaign is different than what you have experienced in Halo 1-3. As you know master chief is not the main character, but instead it is the ODST special squad troop(s). The way they have conveyed the story provides you with a unique experience. Unfortunately, I can't describe it more without spoiling it so I will stop here.
-ONLINE FIREFLIGHT MODE: This to me was the biggest reason to buy the game. However, you can only make full use of it if you have friends on Xbox live. You and your friends competing against hordes of enemies can be really fun. And enemies in Halo games as we know have the BEST AI. Love it just love it.
-GREAT GRAPHICS: Like Halo 3 it has pretty awesome graphics so not much to talk about here.
-FEW NEW WEAPONS: Loved the missle launcher. Keep them coming.
CONS:
-VERY WEAK STORY: The story frankly was very unsatisfying (EVEN AFTER UNLOCKING ALL THE MESSAGES). Again, can't describe without spoiling the content. The ending was simply HORRIBLE (Both the last fight and the story ending)
-VERY WEAK CHARACTERS: I am not talking weak as if they are not Spartans like Master Chief and so they are weak. The voice acting was horrible. Master Chief speaks less, but he makes his words count. These human characters just felt stupid and their dialogues were very POORLY WRITTEN. Terrible voice acting didn't help either..
-NO DUAL WEAPONS: WHAT THE HELL????
-ONLINE MODE SAME AS HALO3: This actually leads me to my concluding remark.
I truly think ODST was initially designed as an expansion pack for Halo 3, but I think they wanted to milk the Halo franchise so they sold it for $60 by adding few useless stuff. Each installment of Halo came with awesome new stuff, ODST on the other hand was A SMALL STEP BACK.
I would give it less stars, but got it for $30 on a special deal which I think is a good price for this HALO 3 INSTALLMENT.

I would say first of all Halo wars was completly not for the regular gamer who plays Halo online. So unless you like Command and Conquer then yes you would think Halo wars sucked. Secondly I think this will be an awesome game because it has stealth, meaning it is a little bit more like the feel of MGS and if you don't know that game then you are not a gamer. I loved MGS and I almost baught a playstation 3 insteed just for that game, so the thought of a Halo game that intagrats stealth is my dream come true.
What's great about it: It's Halo with stealth I mean, can you ask for more?

Game looks great. Can't be positive about anything now and days, but it's practically guaranteed that the game will be amazing. Bet on a million sold in its first 48 hours.
What's great about it: sequel to one of the greatest video game franchises of all time

With all of the hype, and the great trailers made for this game...I was expecting it to be one heck of a game; however, after starting the campaign--I wasn't too pleased. It is too much of a look for things kind of game, as opposed to just having the standard fight all the bad guys kind of game like Halo 2 and 3 was. the only thing I liked about it was the fireflight. That alone is worth the purchase--and if your hoping for better maps...think again. If you have purchased all of the maps on Halo 3, then no need to purchase this Halo ODST multiplayer disc. And it only has 3 new levels. I wish that one day they will come out with all halo maps, including those from the first 2 as well.
What's great about it: The new firefight Campaign
What's not so great: The gameplay was too different than normal Halo 3 combat

ODST should be understood to not be a multiplayer game, hence it comes with the second disc that provides said experience. Because of this, it should be thought of as strictly a 'campaign' only game and it focuses more on the story which is, if not, the best ever presented in a game (it even houses one of the best side-stories). Altogether, ODST is another great game in the Halo series. Bungie = perfection!

This game wont get much good reviews because there is not a new multiplayer. The story is probably better then past Halo games. Infact in my opinion it ranks in my top 5. The story is hard, and you actually feel like a hero. Also a big plus, they brought back use of scorpions, banshees, and warthogs. Something Halo 3 did not feature. The achievements that come to the game are interesting and will keep you playing. It's recommended that you have xbox live, the 3 hardest achievements can only be achieved on live. But they are fun and you and your friends will spend days trying to get. Something i think Bungie tried to attempt to compete with Gears of War and Call of Duty is the Firefight Mode. You go through waves of enemies and each time it gets harder. This is fun if your playing on heroic mode, mainly because the enemies arnt impossible and not so easy you wanna quit playing. One major loss people will rant about is the lack of online multiplayer. Yes it comes with a Halo 3 multiplayer disc but Bungie could of just made users buy the new maps with microsoft points. Is this game worth $60 if your looking for a good story mode? Yes, it's a long game (if your actually playing harder modes). Is it worth $60 if you want to just play the extra maps, honestly no. Either wait till Halo Reach or play MW2. Overall Id give it 7/10.
What's great about it: Story Mode, difficulty of achievements
