This does a good job of holding the GPS on the dashboard of our car. However, you do have to make sure the dashboard is clean before you place this on top. We also use the piece of plastic film that came with it on the base when it is not in use. this helps keep the mount clean. Just hope we never lose this film....

This item securely holds my 7” Garmin on the curved, textured dashboard of my motorhome. I can reposition it as needed (due to glare from the large windows) and it adheres each time. It’s pliable, so can be formed to grip the edge of the dash.

This mount sits on the dash. The bottom is weighted to stay put and flexible to contour to the dash. The GPS mounting arm swivels up and down. When mounted, the Garmin GPS swivels in all directions.

I purchased a larger screen GPS and was concerned that it was going to be constantly falling off the mount on the dashboard. This mount was recommended to me by sales person. I was not convinced it would work on my curved dashboard but the unit molded to the curve and it works great. No sticky stuff needed that would harm the dash!

I debated which base th purchase for the Garmin GPS I got my wife for Christmas. I chose this one. We took it on our extended trip through Florida and it worked like a charm! I'd recommend this over the suction cup mount that comes with the GPS unit. The suction cup mount falls off the windshield periodically, but this mount holds on to the dashboard and, rather than the weight of the GPS pulling down from a suction cup, it pushes down on to a sturdy base.
Easy to set up and easy to use.
What's great about it: Holds up pretty good
What's not so great: Does not come with the GPS unit
I would recommend this to a friend!
