This album reminds me of something you would hear shopping at Macy's. Which could be a bad thing or a good thing. It's upbeat, catchy, and by the name of the album, you can guess what the record is mostly about. There are parts I thought her singing could be better. And a few songs reminded me of other songs from the 80's.
What's great about it: great for people who like norah jones, etc.
What's not so great: singing isn't so great a few times

As a little girl I loved to listen to my mother's Carole King records. When I listened to this Diane Birch CD, I was instantly reminded of the great music of the 70s. Although her style reminds me of Carole King, Diane adds her own personality to this great mix of songs.Diane's rich, earthy vocals mixed with great piano accompaniment (with an occasional addition of brass) made for a great album! The lyrics were also fun and unique! She definitely makes you want to sing along. This album is a great addition to your music collection.

If you like Nora Jones or Diana Krull, you'll probably like this album. It's bluesy yet modern enough to grab today's listener.
Blues isn't normally my genre of choice, but I was happy to receive this album to review. I really didn't know what to expect, as I'd never heard of Diane Birch before, but I was pleasantly surprised once I gave it a listen. The songs vary from uptempo and fun to slow and sensual. It's a nice range for every music lover out there.
Give it a chance. You'll be glad you did. I know I am.
What's great about it: It's nice and relaxing, perfect for a relaxing day at home.
What's not so great: If Blues isn't your fave, don't bother.

Listening to Diane Birch's, Bible Belt Cd is a winner. The single "Fire escape" is an amazing single. It is so haunting and melancholy. Puts you in the right mood, when you are driving down those long, winding roads that seem to go on forever. "Rewind" really makes you think about all of the things that you could have done differently, if you had been given the chance to push rewind on your life. It is really deep and moving. Her cd is reminiscent of Norah Jones. A combination of blues, jazz, and folk. You definitely have to give it a listen.
What's great about it: It is a comnination of blues, folk, and jazz

This is my first experience with Diane Birch. Her voice intrigues me- she's like a mix of Patsy Cline, Carole King and Joss Stone, and yet she's very unique. Her songs range from mellow to upbeat, and there's not a bad one in the bunch. I hope Diane tries country next.
What's great about it: Great mix of songs, talented artist
