I really like this slicer with the exception of the guard that holds the meat in place. While it will hold a small piece of meat, a larger piece will slide out of the grip. The blade is nice and sharp. Overall I do like the product .
What's great about it: sharp blade
What's not so great: guard grip that hold meat in place
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great slicer for home use

This was the third slicer for home use we purchased and had to return the other two brands due to inadequacies.
This Waring Pro - Professional Food Slicer is a Keeper!
The slicer is very easy to set up, easy to clean, has a nice range for slice thickness and the motor hums fast and consistent. It is a nice size and attractive. Parts seem strong. Overall, and so far, very reliable slicer. My only complaint is the cord is short, but of course that may be a safety precaution, and its a simple fix, so not really an issue. I only gave Durability 4 stars because a couple parts are plastic, but really, this unit seems quite durable and I don't see any future issues.
We love the slicer and plan on using it quite a bit. Most frequent use will be for even slices needed for dehydrating fruits and vegetables, and for deli meats and cheese.
If you buy this slicer, I'm sure you will be happy with it for home use.
What's great about it: great price, easy to use, ease of cleaning
What's not so great: short cord
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good for salami cheeses not good for cooked or raw meat better if slightly frozen. Also not good large meats. Manual says don't run motor for more than 10 mins at a time. I Would recommend if your looking a cheap plastic slicer.

It is easy to clean and slice top sirloin , this makes dieting easy and saves money along with food scales. I package up 4oz. packages and put them into the freezer, I cook and eat real foods no packages etc.
Remember just like anything follow the directions. If you want to slice up a whole beef, Elk etc. at one time this is not the slicer:) I just bought a manual food scales up to 11 pounds and a one pound scales $ 10.84 and free shipping:)

We bake our own bread in a bread machine. It comes out of the machine too delicate and soft to slice by hand. This slicing machine slices the bread evenly and cleanly.
