Outstanding remote

Received as a gift in May '11 from an out of town friend (was a Christmas gift). Up to this point, I was unable to find a universal remote that would match up to my Insignia NS-5101HD Surround Receiver. While setting this remote up on line with all of my components, it initially did not recognize this receiver. To my surprise, this thing is smart enough to copy the signals from the receiver's remote control by pointing the remote at the Harmony 700 and clicking a few buttons! Unbelievable! The remote works great with all of my entertainment components. Note: The remote's screen would not display anything. I contacted Logitech about the problem and they sent me a new one without any hassle. Ofcourse, the new one synced up fine and is great. If I could give this a higher rating, I would.
What's great about it: It's really universal... and smart!
What's not so great: Nothing

I love this device that reduces 5 remotes into 1! I have only had this item for about three weeks, but I have taught my wife to use it, so it is fairly easy to navigate! However, it has frozen up a time or two and have to reset it on my computer, which may have been user error:(
What's great about it: Reduction of remotes needed!
What's not so great: Not compatible with all devices, such as wii and PS3
I would recommend this to a friend!

OK, all in one remote control

My children had lost the sound system, as well as the TV remotes. I thought this remote would replace the functionality of both of them. Unfortunately I was mistaken. As all this remote is cappable of, is on/off; info, and volume.
It very seldom fires up with everything working correctly. You must let the remote go thru its checks, before you have to shut it down, and start over.
I like it somewhat, but i would not have purchased if I was aware of the limitations.
What's great about it: It is very durable, and relatvely easy to use.
What's not so great: Basic functions
I would recommend this to a friend!

Works nicely, but has some quirks

I appreciate that this remote replaced five other remotes. I have two issues: 1) You have to constantly tell it what device you want to control, i.e., if I'm controlling my Roku player and I then want to lower the volume on my receiver, I have to go "devices", then select "receiver", only then can I adjust the volume. 2) It doesn't always turn off all devices.
What's great about it: Only one remote to use
What's not so great: Too many buttons to press
I would recommend this to a friend!

This remote is great, i have it set up on my living room using Blu-ray, Yamaha A/v receiver, direct tv. The transistion between activities are seemless and quick. The only thing tjis remote cant do is get me a cold one!:)
What's great about it: Easy setup, even easier use
What's not so great: Durability has yet to ne tested
I would recommend this to a friend!

after the geek squad set it up it has worked really well. It is a lot easier keeping track of one remote to work every thing, and charging the battery on it is so easy!
What's great about it: only having one remote to work everything

Got rid of a pile of remotes

I have had this remote for over a year now and there has still not been a problem. It is so easy to change the settings on the remote via my computer whenever I get a new device or need to change the inputs. This remote has been great because we have 6 devices and 6 remotes is a lot to deal with. This is great because it consolidated all of these 6 remotes into one and has an activity feature which allows me to push one button and have all the inputs configured and the right devices on. That is better than fumbling through 6 remotes to turn everything on and configure it. When this remote finally breaks, which doesn't appear to be anytime soon, me and my family will definitely invest in another harmony remote, perhaps even one of the better models.
What's great about it: Easy set up, Easy modify devices and add them, So many devices on the site
What's not so great: Can't use the remote while it is charging
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bought this remote to replace a 10 year old Sony commander that had died. I really like that it has all of the functions of the original device's remotes and it comes with rechargable batteries and charger. I didn't feel that the touchscreen was worth the adidional cost of moving up to the next higher model.
What's great about it: Ease of use and set up
What's not so great: Numerical entry keypad is very low so it is hard to enter them without using 2 hands.
I would recommend this to a friend!
